Q. Why my Rudraksha beads leave stains when I wear ?.

A.  Some rudraksha beads leave yellow or pinkish color. This colour may be due to the the fact that the beads are dyed or because of the paste used in blessings ceremony. Some priests use yellow or saffron colored puja blessing powder like Asthagandha and others may use kum kum in various shades of red, darkest pink, darkest magenta, etc.

The java rudraksha malas are dyed orange colour after the beads are cleaned to give them an attractive look as opposed to the sandy brown natural colour. This colour would come off by washing the mala a couple of times in plain water.
