Successful completion of Ati Rudra yajna. |
|
Some facts about the
Yajna:
-
The Rudra Yajna is the Most sacred and
powerful among all the Maha Yajna's encompassing two Nishkama Karmas,
namely, Deiva Yagna (worship of Shiva and Other divinities), and
Manushya Yajna (performed with Large devotees who partake
prasadam or grace of the Lord).
-
It is very rare that a Yajna of
this significance and magnitude can be witnessed. Equally rare is the
opportunity for the people to actually participate in the worship. It is
also done particularly for the sake of washing away ones sins and
afflictions, for bringing peace, prosperity and happiness, along with
family togetherness.
-
The Sri Rudram chant is an ancient Vedic
hymn, and is the oldest example of a listing of various names of Lord
Siva. Through the chanting of Sri Rudram, Lord Siva's various attributes
and aspects are invoked and worshipped. Chanting the Rudram is
considered to be of great benefit. The Rudram chanting can be done with
or without the accompaniment of a Vedic yagna ritual. When accompanied
with the Vedic fire ritual, it is called the Rudra Yajna.
-
It is said that Lord Shiva after Bhasmasura
was killed with the Help of Lord Maha Vishnu performed the Tandava Dance
and then performed the "Rudra Yagna" for the Betterment of Humanity,
this Place where the Rudra Yagna was performed is where the "Sri
Kalahasti" Temple*** stands now, this temple also has one of the 12
Jyothirlingas of Parameshwara.
Rudra Literally means that "Fire comes from the Bowels of the earth
spreading God's Grace all over the world".
- This Great Maha Rudra Yajna brings together the
56 Most Scholarly Vedic pandits, in one place.
We will follow Shukla Yajurved system as practiced in Northern India as
compared to Krishna Yajurved system which is followed in Southern parts
of India. Priests of Nagpur, Nashik and Kashi are known for their samyak
recitation of complex Sanskrit shlokas and we will be fortunate to have
such priests.
- There will be regular and continuous recitation of all the four-Vedas (Rik,Saam,Yajur
and AtharvaVed), Ramayan of Tulsidas,
Shri MadBhagwat (Original in
Sanskrit), and Shivpuran in original Sanskrit, all in front of
respective dieties of the temple where this great Yajna is being
performed.
Please remember this place is an old temple where the pujas and archanas
are being done on schedule daily for the last hundreds of years.
- This Atirudra will be Abhishekatmak, meaning continuous pouring of
milk will be done on the Narbadeshwar Shivling which will be sanctified
by Vedic rituals by Jala-shayan,anna-shayan,pushpa-shayan etc before
starting the Atirudra ritual. Some people perform such Atirudra with "Havanatmak"procedure
by keeping burning fire and putting ahutis, but we believe that for
world and self peace objectives abhishekatmak will be more beneficial in
the current circumstances.
Daily Abhishek will also be done using honey, sugar, sugarcane juice, rose
water,pancha-gavya and ganges water etc.
- This is the Only Maha Yajna among all the other Great Yagnas that is
done for the Good of Humanity as a whole, all the
other Yagnas are done for a Specific Reason.
- This is the only Maha Yagna which is done for 11 days as all the
other yagnas are done for a Maximum of 10 days or less.
This makes the Rudra Yagna "The Single most Wonderful and Divine Yagna
of all times".
Atirudra Mahayajnas are held for 11 days. The number 11 has a
significance in Srirudram. Nowhere Atirudram is held for 10
days or less. It has to be for 11 days.
- The Yajna is being performed under the auspicious presence of
H.H.Mahamandaleshwar Swami Punyanandji Giri Maharaj
of Sanyas Ashram,
New Delhi.
- We will have a total of 71 priests to conduct this great ritual. The
pramukh Acharya Pandit Govind Rao Patrade is a senior disciple of Late
Pandit Narayan Mule Shastri who is a recepient of Nagpur Bhushan Award
instituted by Govt of Maharashtra.
- Shri Kamal Narayan Seetha, founder of Rudra Centre is the Chief
Coordinator and Yajman (an organiser).
Srirudra Patam contains 11 Anuvakas. After each chanting of One round of Rudram one Anuvaka Each of Chamakam (out of 11
Anuvakas of chamakam) is chanted. Eleven recitations of Rudram followed
by one recitation of Chamakam is called Ekadasa
Rudram. This constitutes one unit of Rudra Homam. Eleven rounds of
Ekadasa Rudram makes one Laghu Rudram. Eleven Laghu Rudra
Chantings make one Maharudram and eleven Maharudram recitations is the
Atirudram.
Everyday One Maharudram is completed and in eleven days an Atirudra
Mahayajna is completed. Thus in the Atirudra Mahayajna, the Srirudram hymn is chanted in all
14,641 times in 11 days.
- Water of 8 holy rivers is being used in
the Yajna (Ganges,Yamuna,Narmada,Tapti,Krishna,,Kaveri,Godavari and
Gomti).
- Each day evening will be Bhajans, prayers and Indian classical
instumental as well as vocal music by good artists.

Keivalyo-*Upanishad says"
