About Laghu Rudra Yagna Havan | Significance of Laghu Rudra Puja Homa

Laghu Rudra is one of the most significant puja rituals performed by the Hindus to honor, venerate and appease the divine and Supreme energy, Lord Shiva. This puja generates a strong energy field that offers material abundance as well as spiritual elevation. The Laghu Rudra Puja and Laghu Rudra Path are powerful Vedic rituals which are known to invoke all forms of Lord Shiva from his Fierce Raudra roop to his calm composed Adiyogi form and narrates various attributes and stories to glorify the Supreme Lord Shiva. This is the most significant and potent Vedic hymns mentioned in Yajur Veda which is dedicated to Lord Rudra. The hymns are known as Sri Rudram and Chamakam. The Laghu Rudra Pooja begins by performing Aavahan (welcoming of the deity), Sthapna (giving the seat to the deity) Laghu-Nyasam and Rudra Trishati is recited. In the Laghu Rudra Pooja, Sri Rudram Namakam Chamakam is recited by chanting the various names along with the divine attributes of Lord Shiva. This represents the Ying - Yang nature of Shiva's existence symbolizing the balance that is in nature and the cosmos around us. Eleven recitations of the Sri Rudram (Namakam) followed by one recitation of the Chamakam is called Ekadasa Rudram. Laghu Rudra path constitutes Eleven Ekadasa Rudram recitations.    

The ancient Hindu texts are replete with praises for this prayer:    
Keivalyo Upanishad says: "Namakam Chamakam Hotran, Purush-suktam Japet Sada, Pravishet Sa Mahadeva Graham Grahapatiryatha"   

Translation: By Namak Chamak Mantras the person enters the abode of Lord Shiva without any fear and with certainty.    

Rudram Namakam and Chamakam is one of the greatest of all Vedic hymns and is the oldest listing of various names of Lord Shiva. Taken from the mid portion of the Taittiriya Krishna Yajur Veda, it is in two parts, that is Namakam and Chamakam. Rudram Namakam or Namakam, sings the glory of Lord Shiva and invokes His benevolence and constitutes 11 chapters, it is also called Sri Rudram.    

Rudram is chanted for destroying all sins and for removal of all difficulties and Doshas and for overall benefits. Chamakam are sacred hymns recited for fulfilment of all desires and attainment of liberation. The excellent prayer of Rudram grants knowledge and intelligence to the seeker, good health and longevity to the sick, power and strength to the weak, prosperity and opulence to the poor and removes all miseries and difficulties.

Rudram consists of five major parts:

Ganpati Atharvashirsha   
Anganyas   
Panchamrut Snanam   
Namakam   
Chamakam   

It ends with recitation of Purush Sukta and Durga Sukta. Homa is performed by 11 pundits and each pundit recites Sri Rudram 11 times that is a total 121 times Rudra Japa. Abhishekam is done to each of the 11 Rudras with all the 11 dravyas prescribed. Their 11 consorts are also worshiped. After the pooja, Homa is performed with the prescribed ingredients with Beej Mantra ahuti, tarpan and marjan. It ends with poorn-aahuti and shaanti paath. It is an excellent Homa for all round shanti/peace and success in all undertakings.

After completion of all puja rituals certain items are donated by Rudra Centre Puja Services on behalf of the Yajman/Participant of the Puja as per Hindu Shastras. Shiva Yantra: Yantras are geometric representation of deities. This yantra can be kept in your purse/wallet/laptop bag/drawer/cash box/puja altar. The best direction for the yantra will be North East Facing South West   
7 Mukhi Rudraksha: 7 mukhi blesses the yajman with wealth & peace. This can be worn on the right hand as a bracelet for best results. You can get in touch with RRST therapist for guidance    
Silver Tabeez: This amulet consists of Lord Shiva Mantra written on Bhojpatra which was energized in the puja. It can be worn in the neck    
Molly Thread: This Holy thread can be tied on the right hand    
Dry Fruits Prasad: These were offered to Lord Rudra during the puja and can be consumed by the Yajman/Participant    
Puja Coins: Coin of Ganesh, Laxmi & Saraswati will be sent which can be kept in your purse/wallet/laptop bag/drawer/cash box/puja alter and blesses the yajman/participant with prosperity & luck    
Tilaks: Kumkum Sandalwood Paste/Powders are sent which can be applied on the Yantra, Deity Idols or Forehead while doing puja    
Vibhuti (Bhasma)/Holy Ash: The Bhasma of the Laghu Rudra puja will be sent which can be applied on your forehead, throat, chest, biceps

The below mentioned instructions are just suggestions to attune to the puja, however due to hectic/busy lifestyle one may not be able to follow all the suggestions mentioned below and it is completely okay you will still receive the benefits of the puja   

Have a Bath & Wear Clean Clothes Before the Puja   
Avoid Eating Spicy Foods, Onion, Garlic, Non-Vegetarian on the day(s) of the puja.    
Be in Meditative Mode. Try to minimize distractions

As mentioned above it is possible that due to your hectic/busy lifestyle you may not be able to follow these instructions, which is okay, you will still receive the complete benefits of the puja.

Laghu Rudra Puja Cost | Difference between Rudram, Laghu Rudram, Maha Rudram & Ati Rudram

The Laghu Rudra Pooja cost is calculated as per the Dakshina of the priests, the Puja samagri used in the abhishek & havan. One can choose to perform different variation of this puja in which the number of Namakam and Chamakam increases and thus increasing the power of the puja   

As mentioned above, when you perform one recitation of Namakam followed by one recitation of Chamakam it is known as Sri Rudram   
When you perform 11 recitations of Namakam followed by 1 recitation of Chamakam it is known as Ekadasha Rudram   
When you perform 11 recitations of complete Ekadasha Rudram it is called Laghu Rudram   
When you perform 11 recitation of complete Laghu Rudram it is called Maha Rudram   
When you perform 11 recitation of complete Maha Rudram it is called Ati Rudra 

One can choose which Rudram Paath they wish to perform as the recitation increase the number of priest required to do this puja will increase, the puja samagri for the puja will increase which will in turn increase the price of the puja.
