Mahandi Patta

Mahandi Patta is leaves of flowering plant native to Southern Asia, North Africa and Northern Australia. It is also known as Lawsonia inermis, Henna and Aivanam. It is traditionally used as temporary body art dye and also to dye hair, silk, wool and leather. 

The medicinal values of Mahandi Patta are as under:

• Decoction of leaves when gargled helps provide relief during sore throat.
• Paste of leaves when applied on skin helps provide relief from burn, boils, swelling, bruises, leprosy and rheumatic joint pain.
• Helps provide relief from sun burns, skin rashes, burns and wounds.
• Apply paste on soles of feet for relief from burning sensation.
