Installation of Copper Kalash with coconut, chunari and offerings is an auspicious sign in every Puja. Water is filled in the Kalash and coin and betel-nut is offered in it and then a coconut is placed over it surrounded by 5,9 or 11 mango leaves with a Chunari. This Kalash then becomes Purna meaning complete and the abode of Gods and Goddesses that come to reside in it for the puja duration. As per scriptures, Purna Kalasha is a sign of prosperity and good fortune. After the Puja, the coconut and offerings are immersed in flowing water.
