The puja begins with the Shiva Invocation mantra followed by Rudra puja. Then Kashi Rudrabhishek is done by first pouring Gangajal on the Shivling followed by pouring of other holy items like milk, curd, ghee, and other items. Then Sadyojata, Vamadeva, Aghora, Tatpurash, and Pursooktam recitation is done while Homam is performed. Prayers to Lord Ganesha and Goddess Durga are offered and chants/Japa of Ishana mantra, Shiva Gayatri mantra, Pranav mantra is done for puja. After the bathing ritual (Abhishek), Shiva Linga is worshipped with Aarti ritual and pushpanjali (offering of flowers).
