Sage Kapila Samkhaya Pujan

Maharishi Kapila according to Bhagavata Purana is an incarnation of Supreme Lord Vishnu who took birth to restore the spiritual balance in the world through his teachings. Maharishi Kapila is the founder of the Samkhaya School of philosophy, which is one of the six orthodox (astika) schools of Hindu philosophy. He is worshipped as a divinity, a Guru and as an avatar of Lord Vishnu. In Srimad Bhagwad Gita, Lord Krishna has said that Of all trees I am the banyan tree, and of the sages among the Demigods I am Narada. Of the Gandharvas I am Citraratha, and among perfected beings I am the sage Kapila. Maharishi Kapila also taught the world Bhakti Yog, which is a process of liberation through teachings. Maharishi Kapila is also the reason why Goddess Ganga descended to the earth. Maharishi Kapila in rage turned 60,000 sons of King Sagar in to ashes. Later when King Anshuman, a grandson of King Sagar, begged Maharishi Kapila to redeem the souls of Sagara's 60,000 sons, He replied that only if the Ganges descended from heaven and touched the ashes of the 60,000 would they be redeemed.
