1 Mukhi Rudraksha embodies Lord Shiva Himself and is called ‘Sakshat Shiva Swarupa’. Ancient texts including the Shiva Purana, the Jabala Upanishad, and the Srimad Devi Bhagavatam give this bead great honor. It brings forth heightened consciousness and knowingness and enlightens the super consciousness. It is said to wipe away sins and augment one’s spirituality. It is said that one obtains this bead solely by divine karmas and the grace of Bhagavan Shiva. Wearing it is believed to guarantee one's road to Moksha. This bead helps one focus thoughts on the Supreme Element and thus of Atma Tattva must wear the 1 Mukhi Rudraksha, as it is stated that 'Partattva Dharana Cha Jayate Tatprakashnam,' which means 'Concentration on the supreme reality arises, and with it comes the illumination of that reality. It is considered the best Rudraksha for meditation and spiritual growth.
Wearing the one Mukhi is said to make the wearer become like Raja Janak, who enjoys all material pleasures but does not let them influence him. This bead bestows qualities of compassion and inner knowingness and aids the wearer in releasing the bonds of constricting beliefs. This bead assists in improving the functioning of the brain and the neurological system by healing and balancing the Sahasara chakra. This, in turn, helps to alleviate conditions such as depression, migraines, insomnia, and obsessive thoughts.
The one Mukhi rules all planets but has a particular resonance with the planet Uranus in our Solar System. Uranus represents higher processing and understanding of what we have learnt, and Sahasrara element is higher thought. All higher realizations are possible through the unfolding of Uranian energy and through our Crown chakra at the top of the head. It is through the position of our natal Uranus that we can infer brand new, breaking ideas and inventiveness along with clearer thinking patterns. Uranus connects us with the Higher Self or God, guiding us among all kinds of situations life could throw at us, and we no longer feel isolated. These benefits of lifting one to attune with higher power are conferred upon the wearer of one Mukhi.

Nepal beads are larger in size and they vary from 14mm (small) to 40mm (collector) with an average size of 20mm. Java beads are much smaller in size from 2mm (small) to 25mm (collector) with average size of 12mm. Thus, within these two varieties there are different sizes. We have categorized them into Small, Regular, Large, Collector and Super Collector sizes.
Java Super Collector (SC) Beads are the rarest and largest sizes ever produced, representing the pinnacle of Java Rudraksha cultivation. Only a fortunate few have the opportunity to experience the powerful energy and beauty of these exceptional beads.
Nepal beads are larger, with deeply etched mukhi lines and pronounced thorns, giving them a textured surface and a higher intensity of healing frequency. Java beads are smaller, with softer thorns and a smoother surface, and their mukhi lines are less deeply etched. As a result, they may take slightly longer to show results. However, both types of Rudraksha provide nearly identical benefits over time when worn the right way.
Nepal Rudraksha may be a better choice for those seeking faster effects, while Java beads appeal to those who prefer a smaller, more fashionable option for daily wear, such as in bracelets, pendants, or rings. Due to their convenience, many people choose Java beads for therapeutic purposes. Ultimately, the choice depends on personal preference and lifestyle.
When wearing a Rudraksha bead or mala, keep it as close to your skin as possible. Wearing it as per RRCT guidelines is essential to fully benefit from its properties.
Avoid sharing your Rudraksha beads with others, including family members. If you wish to gift your Rudraksha, avoid wearing it for two weeks, reenergize it, and then gift it.
In dry climates, Rudraksha beads may crack, so apply natural unscented oil(like olive oil) with a soft toothbrush periodically. Do not soak or wash them in hot water, as it may destroy the seeds inside and crack the beads.
For best results, wear your Rudraksha 24/7, even while sleeping. You may wear it while bathing but rinse it with water afterward. If continuous wear isn’t possible, aim to wear it continuously for at least two weeks initially, and thereafter for at least 10 hours a day.
If there is dirt or fungal growth in the grooves, soak your Rudraksha in lukewarm water with a few drops of mild soap for 6-7 hours. Scrub gently with a plastic brush, dry in the shade, and apply light oil when dry.
If your Rudraksha has been off your body for over two weeks, consider reenergizing it or chanting "Om Namah Shivaya" 3, 9, 11, 21, 51, or 108 times before wearing it again. It will resonate with your energy within two weeks.
Contrary to some internet advice, avoid soaking Rudraksha beads in ghee and milk, as this may attract bacteria and pests. Instead, visit a Shiva temple for consecration, or wear them directly; they will naturally attune to your body’s energy.
Keep your beads away from damp or wet places when not wearing them. If mold appears or the beads become infested with insects, rinse them in lukewarm water, dry them in the shade or with a hairdryer, and then store them in the freezer for two days.
Surface-level cracks do not diminish a Rudraksha’s effectiveness, as they often fill naturally with changes in weather. However, if the internal compartments become damaged, it is best to replace the bead. With proper care, Rudraksha beads can last for generations.
Elaborate pujas aren’t necessary to energize Rudraksha; chanting Beeja or Shiva mantras helps harmonize with the Rudraksha's energy.
At Rudra Centre, every Rudraksha bead is energized before shipping, but they fully activate and resonate with the chakras upon contact with your body. Wearing them as per RRCT guidelines, and continuously for 24/7, enables Nepali beads to align within 3-5 days and Java beads within 10-14 days, promoting harmony and balance in the body.
You may consume non-vegetarian food or alcohol while wearing Rudraksha without negative effects. However, adopting a Sattvic lifestyle may amplify benefits; many find Rudraksha helpful in reducing habits like smoking and drinking.
You can wear Rudraksha while being intimate or during sexual activity. It’s optional to remove them for such occasions.
If you accidentally step on, drop, or break a Rudraksha, no adverse effects occur. Damaged beads can be respectfully buried or submerged in a natural water body.
People of all religions can wear Rudraksha beads.
Anyone can wear Rudraksha beads regardless of their gender, caste, color, religion or age.
Women can wear Rudraksha and during their menstrual cycle as well.
There are no dietary restrictions such as abstinence from alcohol and meat.
Rudraksha can be worn in the bathroom, but soap may stick to the beads. If this happens, rinse them.
It is advised to remove Rudraksha while visiting a cemetery or during the death of a family member or while performing Shraadh rituals (Last Rites). Reason is that these are places of mourning and will lower the sattvic energy of these beads.
For better results wear your rudraksha 24/7 as per RRCT. You can take them off for a short duration of few hours when wearing is inconvenient.
Keep your Rudraksha clean. If not wearing make sure they are kept in a dry and clean area.
Apply Natural Oil in dry climates.
Avoid conditioning a rudraksha bead in dairy products like ghee or milk.
Avoid sharing your Rudraksha beads with others (including blood relatives) as they develop resonance with the wearer.
Follow the steps below to regularly clean your Rudraksha beads:
Wash Rudraksha beads under running water.
Scrub the surface of the rudraksha to remove any dirt or dust particles caught in the grooves, using a toothbrush.
Use the shade of the Sun (indirect sunlight) or a hairdryer to dry the beads.
Apply any natural oil like Olive oil, Almond oil or Sandal oil.
If you are planning to not wear beads for a long duration, it is advisable to keep them in the fridge.
Do not use any chemical cleaner or insecticide or pesticide to clean or treat your Rudraksha.
Do not put your rudraksha beads in boiling water or extremely hot water.
