When wearing a Rudraksha bead or mala, keep it as close to your skin as possible. Wearing it as per RRCT guidelines is essential to fully benefit from its properties.
Avoid sharing your Rudraksha beads with others, including family members. If you wish to gift your Rudraksha, avoid wearing it for two weeks, reenergize it, and then gift it.
In dry climates, Rudraksha beads may crack, so apply natural unscented oil(like olive oil) with a soft toothbrush periodically. Do not soak or wash them in hot water, as it may destroy the seeds inside and crack the beads.
For best results, wear your Rudraksha 24/7, even while sleeping. You may wear it while bathing but rinse it with water afterward. If continuous wear isn’t possible, aim to wear it continuously for at least two weeks initially, and thereafter for at least 10 hours a day.
If there is dirt or fungal growth in the grooves, soak your Rudraksha in lukewarm water with a few drops of mild soap for 6-7 hours. Scrub gently with a plastic brush, dry in the shade, and apply light oil when dry.
If your Rudraksha has been off your body for over two weeks, consider reenergizing it or chanting "Om Namah Shivaya" 3, 9, 11, 21, 51, or 108 times before wearing it again. It will resonate with your energy within two weeks.
Contrary to some internet advice, avoid soaking Rudraksha beads in ghee and milk, as this may attract bacteria and pests. Instead, visit a Shiva temple for consecration, or wear them directly; they will naturally attune to your body’s energy.
Keep your beads away from damp or wet places when not wearing them. If mold appears or the beads become infested with insects, rinse them in lukewarm water, dry them in the shade or with a hairdryer, and then store them in the freezer for two days.
Surface-level cracks do not diminish a Rudraksha’s effectiveness, as they often fill naturally with changes in weather. However, if the internal compartments become damaged, it is best to replace the bead. With proper care, Rudraksha beads can last for generations.
Elaborate pujas aren’t necessary to energize Rudraksha; chanting Beeja or Shiva mantras helps harmonize with the Rudraksha's energy.
At Rudra Centre, every Rudraksha bead is energized before shipping, but they fully activate and resonate with the chakras upon contact with your body. Wearing them as per RRCT guidelines, and continuously for 24/7, enables Nepali beads to align within 3-5 days and Java beads within 10-14 days, promoting harmony and balance in the body.
You may consume non-vegetarian food or alcohol while wearing Rudraksha without negative effects. However, adopting a Sattvic lifestyle may amplify benefits; many find Rudraksha helpful in reducing habits like smoking and drinking.
You can wear Rudraksha while being intimate or during sexual activity. It’s optional to remove them for such occasions.
If you accidentally step on, drop, or break a Rudraksha, no adverse effects occur. Damaged beads can be respectfully buried or submerged in a natural water body.
People of all religions can wear Rudraksha beads.
Anyone can wear Rudraksha beads regardless of their gender, caste, color, religion or age.
Women can wear Rudraksha and during their menstrual cycle as well.
There are no dietary restrictions such as abstinence from alcohol and meat.
Rudraksha can be worn in the bathroom, but soap may stick to the beads. If this happens, rinse them.
It is advised to remove Rudraksha while visiting a cemetery or during the death of a family member or while performing Shraadh rituals (Last Rites). Reason is that these are places of mourning and will lower the sattvic energy of these beads.
For better results wear your rudraksha 24/7 as per RRCT. You can take them off for a short duration of few hours when wearing is inconvenient.
Keep your Rudraksha clean. If not wearing make sure they are kept in a dry and clean area.
Apply Natural Oil in dry climates.
Avoid conditioning a rudraksha bead in dairy products like ghee or milk.
Avoid sharing your Rudraksha beads with others (including blood relatives) as they develop resonance with the wearer.
Follow the steps below to regularly clean your Rudraksha beads:
