Parad Shivlinga is solidified form of Mercury prepared after undergoing 8 stages of purification as per Parad Samhita. Purified and solidified alchemical Parad (mercury) is considered the purest and most auspicious of all minerals and metals. Shivling personifies Lord Shiva in form of Lingam and Goddess Shakti in form of Yoni base. Linga signifies that the creation is affected by the union of Prakriti and Purusha, the male and the female powers of Nature. It also signifies Satya, Jnana, and Ananta—Truth, Knowledge, and Infinity. 

The most common use of the Shiva Lingam is for sacred bathing (abhishekam) and so the worship of a Shiva Lingam always includes an abhisheka usually of milk and water, but commonly with other liquids, including yogurt, honey and clarified butter as well. Shivlinga is worshipped in homes and temples. At home it blesses with unity and harmony in the family and guides its devotees to spiritual path.
