What is Matangi Pujan Yantra?

Yantras are intricate and powerful geometric diagrams that hold profound significance in various cultures and traditions. They are geometric representations of specific Deities/Energies like how Mantras are audio/verbal representations of different Gods. Yantras act as channels to invoke the blessings and qualities of these specific deities. The Matangi Pujan Yantra contains the seed mantra of Matangi Devi that blesses the worshippers with great powers, speech, harmonious family life and the peace of mind. She is the goddess of speech, spiritual knowledge, arts, music and dance. Those seeking wisdom and knowledge may worship Matangi Pujan Yantra. Moreover, creative minds like singers, musicians, dancers, actors, writers, poets and the like should have this yantra installed in their dwelling.

The 2-dimensional diagram of Matangi Pujan Yantra comprises a Trikona or two interlocked triangles, one pointing upwards and representing the masculine energy or Shiva, and another pointing downwards and representing the feminine energy or Shakti. This divine unification of both energies is the cause of all creation. It is encircled by 8 Lotus Petals. Outside of the circle these are forms resembling the petals of an unfolding lotus. The petals are pointed toward the exterior for a reason. It represents the expansion of our understanding and the opening of our minds. The lotus is also a symbol of the heart, particularly its inner or hidden chamber. This location is sometimes referred to as Brahma's cave, Brahma's city in the East, or the inner castle in the West. This is the essence of being that is unaffected by daily life. On the left side there is an etched image of Matangi Devi. Taken together, this is a wonderful yantra for removal of resentments and other negative emotions as well as for protection against these. This yantra brings purity of heart and mind, allowing the person to powerfully express his or her truth. This derives in happy and healthy relationships and prosperity in all aspects of life.

Matangi Devi is the divine daughter of Matang Rishi. He was born into a lower caste known as Chandal. Harboring a stronger desire to cultivate spiritual nature, he defied and did not believe in the orthodox caste system as he wanted to be a first-class Brahmin like others through his karma. Through the worship of Bhagawan Indra and Saraswati devi, he was blessed with a daughter who was unparalleled intellectually and later became known as Matangi. Thus, Matang Rishi gained a reputation of being a spotless Brahmin.

Matangi Devi is regarded as one of the Mahavidyas, a group of ten goddesses in the Shakta tradition, which reveres the Divine Mother or Goddess Shakti as the supreme force. Matangi is frequently associated with the ability to communicate, knowledge, and the arts. She is depicted as having a dark complexion, sitting on a throne, and holding a veena (musical instrument), a noose, a goad, and a parakeet. The parrot represents her connection to communication and education.

In Hindu mythology, Matangi is believed to have arisen from the wisdom of Saraswati, the deity of learning and knowledge, and she represents the divine aspect that governs creativity, eloquence, and the arts. It is believed that her veneration confers talent in music, dance, and other artistic endeavors. Matangi's cult has adherents who revere her as a source of knowledge and inspiration. She is also revered for her capacity to remove obstacles and grant devotees blessings. Her worship is most prevalent within certain Tantric Hindu traditions, such as Shaktism.

How to Meditate on Matangi Pujan Yantra? (Visualization Technique)

Meditating on the Matangi Pujan Yantra is the most powerful way to achieve union with the diagram. Achieving the union is said to reveal all secrets of the world and one is supposed to gain access to knowledge of higher realms. In an oversimplified sense one must recreate the Matangi Pujan Yantra diagram accurately in the mind and visualize it. This visualization technique may sound simple but is quite tough to achieve, one must spend years of sadhana just to create an accurate image of the diagram in their head.

One can start by sitting in a comfortable posture facing east with an accurate image of Matangi Pujan Yantra at their Eye Level.

Perform Pranayama Anolom Vilom (Alternating nostril breaths) 10 times & meditate to purify your mind and thoughts.

Start by focusing on the Centre Point Bindu with your gaze going inward to outward from the Bindu to the 1st Layer of the Trikona or two interlocked triangles to the 2nd Layer of the Circle to the 3rd Layer of the Lotus petals to the 4th Layer of Squares in the outermost part. These are the steps or Avaran of Matangi Pujan yantra.

Then your gaze should go from the Outermost Gate back to the Bindu.

Try to avoid blinking your eyes during this process. You can do this for multiple rounds for 30 minutes.

After you can focus with intent for at least 30 minutes (the stamina to just focus may take quite some time to develop) close your eyes and try to recreate the image of the Matangi Pujan Yantra Diagram accurately.

Once you can create and sustain an accurate image of Matangi Pujan Yantra in your mind try to focus one by one on the steps mentioned above and go from Bindu to Outermost gate & Back to Bindu however all this needs to be done in your mind in meditation with your eyes closed.

This visualization technique takes many years to master and bless the Sadhak with material success as well as spiritual augmentation.
