This idol crafted in heavy shining brass features Soma Dev, who is one of the Navagrahas. Soma, also known as Chandra is featured as seated in Lalitasana pose on an Antelope. He is beautifully clad in Dhoti and jewels and holds a rope and Lotus in His upper arms. His right hand is raised in Abhayam mudra and left hand is in Varad mudra. Soma rules the planet Moon. Soma affects personality, temperament, mental and emotional balance. He governs the mind, water element, the colour white, Monday (weekday).
