Akshaya Tritiya, also known as Akha Teej, is one of the most sacred days in the Hindu calendar. Falling on the Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the Vaishakha month, it is a day when everything you begin or offer multiplies eternally. “Akshaya” means imperishable, eternal, and never diminishing—making this day a cosmic gateway to abundance and success.

Why is Akshaya Tritiya Celebrated?

According to Vedic scriptures and ancient legends, this day marks the unfolding of divine events that have shaped the spiritual fabric of our world:

• Beginning of Treta Yuga, a golden age of dharma.
• Lord Parashurama, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, took birth on this day.
• Lord Ganesha began scripting the Mahabharata, as narrated by Ved Vyas.
• Goddess Annapurna, the provider of food and nourishment, was born.
• Kuber was appointed as the treasurer of heaven by Lord Shiva.
• The sacred Ganga descended from the heavens to purify the Earth.
• Sudama received eternal abundance from Lord Krishna upon offering beaten rice (poha).

On this highly charged day, the Sun and Moon both shine in their fullest brilliance, amplifying spiritual energies and ensuring that any sadhana, daan, or sankalpa bears fruit beyond measure.
