Akshaya Tritiya, falling on the Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha in Vaishaka month, is celebrated for its ability to bestow wealth and good fortune. Legend has it that any charitable act, purchase of precious items, or puja performed on this day never diminishes but rather grows in significance.
According to Hindu mythology, Akshaya Tritiya marks the beginning of Treta Yuga, a time of great divine significance. It is believed that on this day, both the Sun and the Moon shine their brightest, making it an incredibly auspicious occasion. This day is associated with several divine events, including the birth of Lord Parashurama, the commencement of Lord Ganesha's writing of the Mahabharata, Sudama's receiving of abundance from Lord Krishna, the birth of Goddess Annapurna, the appointment of Kuber as the custodian of wealth, and the descent of the sacred river Ganges from the heavens. Additionally, Akshaya Tritiya is marked by the celebration of Lord Parashurama Jayanti, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
On this sacred day, Lord Vishnu, along with Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kuber, is worshipped for blessings of abundance and prosperity.
We extend a warm invitation to join us in this grand group puja, where we collectively invoke divine blessings for enduring prosperity and success.
On this auspicious day, several customs are observed:
1. Puja and Worship: Devotees perform special prayers and rituals dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Goddess Lakshmi, and Lord Kuber, seeking blessings for wealth, prosperity, and abundance in their lives.
2. Charity and Donation: Acts of charity and kindness are emphasized, with people donating food, clothing, and money to the needy as a means of earning blessings and spreading joy.
3. Gold and Valuables: It is believed that any investment made or valuable items purchased on Akshaya Tritiya will yield perpetual growth and prosperity. Hence, many individuals choose to buy gold, jewellery, or property on this auspicious day.
4. Initiating New Ventures: Akshaya Tritiya is regarded as an opportune time to commence new endeavours, ventures, or business ventures, with the belief that they will thrive and prosper.
5. Honoring Ancestors: Some observe rituals to honor their ancestors, offering prayers and performing pujas for their well-being and seeking their blessings for a prosperous future.
6. Fasting and Spiritual Practices: Devotees undertake fasting and engage in spiritual activities such as meditation, mantra chanting, and reading scriptures to attain spiritual growth and divine blessings.
In essence, Akshaya Tritiya embodies a spirit of piety, optimism, and aspiration for prosperity, as people partake in various traditions to invoke divine blessings and ensure a prosperous journey ahead.
