Gayatri Jayanti marks the sacred appearance of Maa Gayatri, the revered Goddess of the Vedas, also known as Ved Mata—the Mother of the Vedas. Maa Gayatri is depicted with five heads: four symbolizing the four Vedas and the fifth representing the Almighty. The Gayatri Mantra, known as the mūla mantra or “root mantra” of Hinduism, is a powerful invocation of eternal wisdom and spiritual enlightenment.

According to Vedic tradition, it is on this auspicious day that Maa Gayatri appeared before sage Vishwamitra, blessing him with the vision of the Gayatri Mantra to restore spiritual wisdom and righteousness in the world.

Chanting the Gayatri Mantra and performing this puja on Gayatri Jayanti will rejuvenate your inner energies, enhance mental clarity, and sharpen your intellect. Maa Gayatri Mantra:

ॐ भूर् भुवः स्वः तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यम्
भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात्॥

Transliteration:

“Om bhur bhuvah svah tat savitur varenyam bhargo devasya dhimahi dhiyo yo nah prachodayat”

Meaning:

“We meditate on the divine light of the Supreme Creator (Savitur), which illuminates and inspires our intellect (dhiyo) to pursue righteousness and higher wisdom.”

Rudra Centre’s priests will perform the puja following authentic Vedic rituals. Please mention your Full name, Current Location, Gotra/Birth details (date, place, time)/Parent’s Name, & Sankalpa (your wish) in the instructions box. 

This is a group puja performed along with other Yajamans. You can include the names of your family members in the puja. You can witness the puja through live streaming, with the link shared before the event.
