The 2-dimensional diagram of Gayatri Yantra comprises an inverted triangle surrounding its center or Bindu Point, followed by a Shaktona or two interlocked Triangles in both upward and downward positions, which are surrounded by a circle encircling the triangles symbolizing the cosmic cycle. Time has no beginning and no end; it is a never-ending cycle of events. From the atomic nucleus to the largest bodies in the universe, everything participates in the cycle. 9 Lotus petals with the gayatri mantra etched on these blossom to the outside part of the diagram along with an amalgamation of vertical outwardly directed lines symbolizing the rays of the Sun and horizontal to crescent circular lines standing for the radiance of Light and constant spiritual enlightenment beyond all limitations. The four outer rectangular Squares in 3 layers represent the 4 cardinal directions. They also symbolize the opening between the inner and outer realms of the individual. Taken together, these spectacular geometries convey the limitless sparkle of the Gayatri yantra.

Have a bath & wear clean clothes.

Sit in a comfortable sitting posture while facing East.

Perform Pranayama Anolom Vilom (Alternating nostril breaths) 10 times & meditate to purify your mind and thoughts.

Place the Gayatri Yantra in front of you on a Puja Thali.

Light a Diya Lamp and Offer Namaskar.

Using Kusha Grass or a Spoon sprinkle Gangajal on yourself and your surroundings while chanting Pavitrikaran Mantra:

"Om Apavitrah Pavitro Va Sarva Vastan Gatopi Va 
Yah Smaret Pundari Kaksham Sa Bahya Bhyantarah Shuchih"

Translation:

May all things unholy become holy, may all lower tendencies depart, just as soon as we transcend may within and without be purified!

Perform Abhishek (Ritualistic Bathing) of the Gayatri Yantra using Water, Milk, Honey, Panchamrit & Sugar while chanting “Om Bhur Bhuvah Swaha, Tat Savitur Varenyam, Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi, Dhiyo Yonah Prachodayat”.

Light a Dhoop Incense and Offer that to the Gayatri Yantra.

How to Meditate on Gayatri Yantra? (Visualization Technique)

Meditating on the Gayatri Yantra is the most powerful way to achieve union with the diagram. Achieving the union is said to reveal all secrets of the world and one is supposed to gain access to knowledge of higher realms. In an oversimplified sense one must recreate the Gayatri Yantra diagram accurately in the mind and visualize it. This visualization technique may sound simple but is quite tough to achieve, one must spend years of sadhana just to create an accurate image of the diagram in their head.

One can start by sitting in a comfortable posture facing east with an accurate image of Gayatri Yantra at their Eye Level.

Perform Pranayama Anolom Vilom (Alternating nostril breaths) 10 times & meditate to purify your mind and thoughts.

Start by focusing on the Centre Point Bindu with your gaze going inward to outward from the Bindu to the 1^st Layer of the Inverted Triangle to the 2^nd Later to the Upward pointing triangle to the 3^rd Layer to the Downward pointing triangle to the 4^th Layer of the Shaktona focusing on its interlocked triangles all at once, to the 5^th Layer with the Circle, to the 6^th Layer of the 9 petals to the 7^th Layer of the outwardly vertical lines standing for radiance and sun rays along with the crescent circles related with perpetual motion and in progression and regeneration to the 8^th Layer of the outermost part comprising rectangular Squares, one stripe at a time. These are the steps or Avaran of Gayatri yantra.

Then your gaze should go from the Outermost Gate back to the Bindu.

Try to avoid blinking your eyes during this process. You can do this for multiple rounds for 30 minutes.

After you can focus with intent for at least 30 minutes (the stamina to just focus may take quite some time to develop) close your eyes and try to recreate the image of the Gayatri Yantra Diagram accurately.

Once you can create and sustain an accurate image of Gayatri Yantra in your mind try to focus one by one on the steps mentioned above and go from Bindu to Outermost gate & Back to Bindu however all this needs to be done in your mind in meditation with your eyes closed.

This visualization technique takes many years to master and bless the Sadhak with material success as well as spiritual augmentation.

Where to install Gayatri Yantra?

Gayatri Yantra will energize the area where it is placed, it can be installed anywhere in your home, office, factory, dwelling. Ideally it should be placed in the East Corner of a room facing West.
