Goddess Chinnamasta idol in Bronze

This rare idol in shining bronze portrays Goddess Chinnamasta, Who is one of ferocious aspect and forms of Dusmahavidyas (wisdom Goddess). In this idol, She is depicted holding Her own severed head in one hand and a sword in Her other hand symbolising Her self-sacrifice for welfare of the world. She is adorning a garland of skulls, while Her companions – Dakini and Varnini are seen on standing on Her either side, holding a sword and bowl In their hands. Chinnamasta Devi stands on bodies of God of love, Kama and His consort Rati who are in sexual embrace, which signifies sexual self-control of Devi. Devi severed Her own head and blood flew out of her decapitated body in three jets and the central jet flew into her own head and the other two jets of blood streamed into Her companions mouth, symbolizing Her as a nourisher of the universe. Symbolically, Goddess personifies the bliss and power of transformation in action. Goddess Chinnamasta is worshipped for removal of poverty, obstacles and troubles and for overcoming limitation of mind and also for enhanced perception.
