What is Indrakshi Yantra?

The 2-dimensional diagram of Indrakshi Yantra comprises the Sanskrit syllable Shreem etched at the centre of the yantra or Bindu. This is surrounded by two interlocked Squares. The purpose of engraving the Beej Mantra on the Bindu point of the Indrakshi Yantra is to enhance the connection with Her divine energy and inviting Her blessings and protection. The Square (Bhupura) represents the Earth Element that resides in the physical Self and the material world that we live in. Two interlocked Squares are pointing to 8 directions namely East (Purva), West (Paschima), North (Uttara), South (Dakshina), Northeast (Ishanya), Northwest (Vayavya), Southeast (Agneya) and Southwest (Nairitya). In Hindu rituals, temple architecture, and the placement of deities in sacred spaces, these eight directions are frequently honored and symbolized. Ancient scriptures – Rig Veda – holds her in high regard and praises her exceptional and exquisite beauty. Indrani is also renowned by several other names with Shachi being the most popular. Shachi is believed to stand for Shakti, the power and Indrani is regarded as a formidable divine being. She is also referred to by other names like Mahendri, Aindri, Pulomaja, and Poulomi.

Indrani or Indrakshi is frequently depicted as a goddess with many arms holding various weapons and power symbols. She is revered as a fierce and protective deity, especially for blessings related to strength, courage, prosperity, and triumph over obstacles. Indrani devi is believed to be in a Godly avatar and even though she was born in the family of the Asuras, she is considered to be honorable, pure, compassionate and exceptionally gorgeous.

Indrakshi Devi is depicted as a woman of indistinguishable beauty, whose allure almost no one could resist. With everyone yearning deeply for her, she ended up becoming an object for envy and heartburn for several. Choose an auspicious day after checking the Hindu Calendar preferably a Thursday.

Have a bath & wear clean clothes.

Sit in a comfortable sitting posture while facing East.

Perform Pranayama Anolom Vilom (Alternating nostril breaths) 10 times & meditate to purify your mind and thoughts.

Place the Indrakshi Yantra in front of you on a Puja Thali.

Light a Diya Lamp and Offer Namaskar.

Using Kusha Grass or a Spoon sprinkle Gangajal on yourself and your surroundings while chanting Pavitrikaran Mantra:

"Om Apavitrah Pavitro Va Sarva Vastan Gatopi Va 
Yah Smaret Pundari Kaksham Sa Bahya Bhyantarah Shuchih"

Translation:

May all things unholy become holy, may all lower tendencies depart, just as soon as we transcend may within and without be purified!

Chant Indrakshi Mantra: Om Gum Ganapataye Namaha (11 times) 
Chant Shiva Mantra: Om Namah Shivaye (11 times) 
Chant Vishnu Mantra: Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya (11 times)

Remember all the 9 planets Sun (Surya), Moon (Chandra), Mars (Mangal), Mercury (Budha), Jupiter (Brihaspati), Venus (Shukra), Saturn (Shani), Rahu & Ketu. Remember all the 5 elements Earth, Water, Fire, Air & Ether.

Perform Abhishek (Ritualistic Bathing) of the Indrakshi Yantra using Water, Milk, Honey, Panchamrit & Sugar while chanting “Om Shreem Hreem Kleem Aim Indrakshi Namah”.

Wash the Indrakshi Yantra with Water & Wipe it with a Clean Cloth.

Offer Kum while chanting Indrakshi Yantra Beej Mantra: “Om Shreem Hreem Kleem Aim Indrakshi Namah” after each recitation. You may chant this Mantra 9/21/51 or 108 times.

Perform Panchupchara Puja.

How to Worship Indrakshi Yantra (Simple Procedure)

Some may not be able to perform the puja as mentioned above, in this case one can follow the simple puja procedure mentioned below. Note that any form of worship done with a positive intention will bless the devotees.

One can worship Indrakshi Yantra using the technique mentioned below. 

Choose an auspicious day after checking the Hindu Calendar preferably a Thursday. 

Have a bath & wear clean clothes.

Sit in a comfortable sitting posture while facing East.

Perform Pranayama Anolom Vilom (Alternating nostril breaths) 10 times & meditate to purify your mind and thoughts.

Place the Indrakshi Yantra in front of you on a Puja Thali.

Light a Diya Lamp and Offer Namaskar.

Sprinkle water on yourself and the Indrakshi Yantra.

Apply Sandal Paste to the Bindu of the Indrakshi Yantra.

Offer Kum to the Indrakshi Yantra.

Offer Fruits or Sweets to the Indrakshi Yantra.

Light a Dhoop Incense and Offer that to the Indrakshi Yantra.

Chant the Beej Mantra “Om Shreem Hreem Kleem Aim Indrakshi Namah” 9/21/51 or 108 times.

Perform Parikrama (Circumbulation) around Indrakshi Yantra 3 times.

Chant “Om Shantih, Shantih, Shantih!” & Conclude the Puja.

How to Meditate on Indrakshi Yantra? (Visualization Technique)

Meditating on the Indrakshi Yantra is the most powerful way to achieve union with the diagram. Achieving the union is said to reveal all secrets of the world and one is supposed to gain access to knowledge of higher realms. In an oversimplified sense one must recreate the Indrakshi Yantra diagram accurately in the mind and visualize it. This visualization technique may sound simple but is quite tough to achieve, one must spend years of sadhana just to create an accurate image of the diagram in their head.

One can start by sitting in a comfortable posture facing east with an accurate image of Indrakshi Yantra at their Eye Level.

Perform Pranayama Anolom Vilom (Alternating nostril breaths) 10 times & meditate to purify your mind and thoughts.

Start by focusing on the Centre Point Bindu with your gaze going inward to outward from the Bindu to the 1^st Layer of the main Square to the 2^nd Layer of the upwardly pointing Square to the 3^rd Layer of 8 small Triangles converging in the outermost part of the Squares and ponting outwardly to the 4^th Layer of square area with four mantras etched on each corner to the 5^th Layer of the outermost squares on the borders fixing the gaze on the Four at the same time. These are the steps or Avaran of Indrakshi yantra.

Then your gaze should go from the Outermost Gate back to the Bindu.

Try to avoid blinking your eyes during this process. You can do this for multiple rounds for 30 minutes.

After you can focus with intent for at least 30 minutes (the stamina to just focus may take quite some time to develop) close your eyes and try to recreate the image of the Indrakshi Yantra Diagram accurately.

Once you can create and sustain an accurate image of Indrakshi Yantra in your mind try to focus one by one on the steps mentioned above and go from Bindu to Outermost gate & Back to Bindu however all this needs to be done in your mind in meditation with your eyes closed.

This visualization technique takes many years to master and bless the Sadhak with material success as well as spiritual augmentation.

Where to install Indrakshi Yantra?

Indrakshi Yantra will energize the area where it is placed, it can be installed anywhere in your home, office, factory, dwelling. Ideally it should be placed in the East Corner of a room facing West.
