Maha Vishnu Shankh Shaligram Shila

This Maha Vishnu Shankh Shaligram refers to the Universal form of Bhagwan Vishnu, which He chose to reveal in His Shri Krishna Avatar, to Arjuna, during the Kurukshetra war, as described in the Epic Mahabharata. This Shila is in a perfect conch shape. 

The Shaligram Shila is found only in the Kali Gandaki, river, Nepal and has spiral markings which resembles the Sudarshan Chakra, the discus weapon, of Bhagawan Vishnu. The Shaligram has been praised in ancient texts for its powers, The Vaishnav sect worships the Shaligram Shila regularly. It is believed that worshipping the Shaligram Shila with a pure heart, absolves sins and leads the path to Moksha. The Shaligram Shila is worshipped by performing Abhishek with Water and Tulsi leaves and a mixture of Cow Milk (without boiling), Curd, Ghee, Honey, Sugar.
