Yantras are intricate and powerful geometric diagrams that hold profound significance in various cultures and traditions. They are geometric representations of specific Deities/Energies like how Mantras are audio/verbal representations of different Gods. Yantras act as channels to invoke the blessings and qualities of these specific deities. Mahamrityunjaya yantra is the physical form of the mantra with the same name which is found at the Heart of the Vedas (Rig Veda 7.59.12) and regarded as the highest revered mantra in Hinduism only after the Gayatri mantra. The healing powers of the Mahamrityunjaya Yantra are so high that you can dip the Yantra into the water for 30 minutes. This purified water can be drunk to cure various internal diseases. It can also be sprinkled in the house to create a purified and peaceful atmosphere at home. The Mahamrityunjaya yantra is considered the most powerful protective yantra against all sorts of diseases and misfortunes, a harbinger of auspiciousness and the most effective mantra to eradicate possibilities of accidental and untimely death. In fact, it has been scientifically proven that continuous recitation of the mantra engraved on this divine yantra on the ears of patients in a coma causes them to recover from their imminent death. The enormously powerful Mahamrityunjaya yantra enables an individual to reach their full potential by removing all barriers from his or her path.
Mahamrityunjaya Yantra in two-dimensional diagram consists of three patterns of 8 lotus each in crescent shape and outward direction from a pentagram in its center or bindu point which is associated with goddess Kali and symbolizes the creation and evolution of the Universe which is encircled by a circle standing for rotation, followed by two crescent patterns of 3 circles each spreading over the yantra in between the lotuses petals, standing for crescent manifestation, movement and expansion, until reaching the external square shape with four trishul symbols of Shiva present in each of its four corners, representing the four cardinal directions, directed from each of the external petals pointing on these directions. The bigger pattern of lotuses symbolizes purity and transcendence and all the complex and intricate geometry of the Mahamrityunjaya Yantra represents the transformative power of Bhagawan Shiva. By meditating or concentrating on this yantra, individuals seek to access its spiritual energy and invoke the grace of Bhagawan Shiva for healing, protection, and spiritual growth.

Meditating on the Mahamrityunjaya Yantra is the most powerful way to achieve union with the diagram. Achieving the union is said to reveal all secrets of the world and one is supposed to gain access to knowledge of higher realms. In an oversimplified sense one must recreate the Mahamrityunjaya Yantra diagram accurately in the mind and visualize it. This visualization technique may sound simple but is quite tough to achieve, one must spend years of sadhana just to create an accurate image of the diagram in their head.
One can start by sitting in a comfortable posture facing east with an accurate image of Mahamrityunjaya Yantra at their Eye Level.
Perform Pranayama Anolom Vilom (Alternating nostril breaths) 10 times & meditate to purify your mind and thoughts.
Start by focusing on the Centre Point Bindu or Pentagram with your gaze going from inward to outward from the Bindu to the 1st Layer of petals in the circle, then to the 2nd Layer of circles (Set of 3) to 3rd Layer of petals (Set of 8) to the 4th Layer of circles (Set of 3) to the 5th Layer of petals (Set of 8) to the Thrisuls (Set of 4) to the Outermost Gate (These are the Steps or Avaran of Mahamrityunjaya Yantra)
Then your gaze should go from the Outermost Gate back to the Bindu.
Try to avoid blinking your eyes during this process. You can do this for multiple rounds for 30 minutes.
After you can focus with intent for at least 30 minutes (the stamina to just focus may take quite some time to develop) close your eyes and try to recreate the image of the Mahamrityunjaya Yantra Diagram accurately.
Once you can create and sustain an accurate image of Mahamrityunjaya Yantra in your mind try to focus one by one on all the Steps mentioned above and go from Bindu to Outermost gate & Back to Bindu however all this needs to be done in your mind in meditation with your eyes closed.
This visualization technique takes many years to master and bless the Sadhak with material success as well as spiritual augmentation.
