    This Nandi(the Bull) idol is made of pure Silver and is an unusual portrayal of the celestial Bull, who is usually seen sitting in His idols found in Shiva temples and otherwise. Though Nandi’s idol is in standing posture, His head is bowed down to His Divine Master, Lord Shiva, a bell hangs from His neck, which adds to the appeal of this idol. Nandi is the Vahana(vehicle) of Lord Shiva and the gatekeeper of Mt. Kailash, the abode of Lord Shiva. Nandi is a perfect devotee of Lord Shiva and when devotees visit Shiva temples, they first pray to Him before entering the main Mandir, as Nandi’s idol is always present in Shiva temples.
