Panchmukhi Hanuman Brass Idol

The Panchmukhi (five faced) Hanuman is considered the most powerful form of Lord Hanuman. Lord Hanuman was an unyielding devotee of Lord Ram (Lord Vishnu’s avatar) who served the Lord with complete dedication.

This awe inspiring Brass idol of Panchmukhi Hanuman is excellently carved. Lord Hanuman is in depicted sitting on a pedestal stand, with His legs folded, adorned in ornaments. He has ten hands, five in left and five in right. The lowest right hand is in the Abhaya mudra which assures His devotees of protection. His other hands hold various weapons like a Sword, an Axe, the Sudarshan Chakra, a dagger etc. with each weapon having a significant relevance. His own signature weapon, the Gada (mace) is seen resting on the right beside Him on the floor. 

The five faces are well very defined and are :

• Hanuman (Vanara) which protects from enemies, bestows happiness
• Narsimha (Lion) eliminates fear and unfavourable influences of evil spirits
• Garuda (the bird who served as Lord Vishu’s carrier) dispels negative energies and ailments
• Varaha (Boar) removes negative influences of all planets and bestows prosperity and wealth.
• Hayagreeva (Horse) blesses with knowledge, intelligence, victory and progeny

Behind the heads of Panchmukhi Hanuman, the halo of the Lord is seen, which is etched with designs. The polish and finish of the idol adds to the Divine look.

It is said that the five faces are symbolic of Hanumanji’s vigilance of all direction. An interesting aspect is that the four faces are all connected to Lord Vishnu.Panchmukhi Hanuman is mainly installed at homes, shops, offices for protection from all harm, danger, evil and negative energies. It is supposed to provide protection from fire, floods, cyclones and the entire gamut of natural calamities as well.
