The Pitru Dosh Nivaran Puja will be performed in the sacred grounds of Prayagraj This holy confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers is a powerful site for liberation and spiritual transformation. Known for its divine ability to cleanse karmic debts and ancestral burdens, the Triveni Sangam.
This puja is designed to offer prayers and oblations to one's ancestors, seeking their blessings and helping their souls attain peace (Moksha). Pitru Dosh, often caused by improper ancestral rituals or unfulfilled obligations towards forefathers, can result in negative impacts on an individual’s health, finances, and overall well-being.
Pitru Dosh is a karmic debt that arises when ancestors are displeased or when their souls remain unfulfilled due to improper rituals or untimely death. This imbalance is reflected in one’s Kundli and can cause obstacles in various aspects of life.
Sacred Confluence: Triveni Sangam, the divine meeting point of Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati, is considered one of the holiest sites where the combined energies of these sacred rivers amplify the effects of any spiritual practice.
Karmic Cleansing: Rituals performed at this confluence are believed to wash away lifetimes of karmic impurities, ensuring deep spiritual purification and blessings for health and longevity.
Divine Amplification: The unique spiritual magnetism of Sangam enhances the healing and protective powers of the Mahamrityunjaya Puja, invoking Lord Shiva’s grace for overcoming obstacles and averting untimely death.
Spiritual Gateway: Known as a gateway to liberation, Triveni Sangam ensures that prayers offered here resonate across cosmic realms, attracting divine blessings and transformative spiritual grace.
In Shradh rituals, Pind Daan is a sacred offering made to the departed souls in the form of rice balls known as pindas. These pinds are typically made using a mixture of cooked rice, black sesame seeds (til), barley or wheat flour, ghee, and holy water. The pind represents the subtle body (sūkṣma sharīra) of the departed soul and is offered with devotion to aid their journey in the afterlife, grant them peace, and help resolve any lingering karmic attachments.
In Shradh or Pitru Dosh Puja a total of 16 Pindaas are offered:
Om Shreem Sarva Pitra Dosha Nivaranay klesham Han Han Sukh Shantim Dehi Phat Swaha
Sthapana (Kalash, Brahma vishnu mahesh), Sankalpa, 108 Pitru-Tarpan, 11 tarpans of last 3 ancestors, 16 Pind daan, Shraddh of last 3 ancestors, Visarjan, Pitru Dosh Nivaran mantra Japa 501 times.
Please share the following details for the Sankalpa so the puja is offered in your name and for your well-being; no Sankalpa is needed for ancestral pujas.
You may choose to perform the puja for one specific ancestor by providing their name, Gotra (if known), and your relation to them. Alternatively, you may specify the names, Gotra, and relations of up to three generations of deceased ancestors:
Even if no names are provided, it is completely acceptable. The Brahmins will perform the rituals with the sacred Sankalpa to include all known, unknown, and forgotten souls from your lineage, ensuring that no ancestor is left unhonoured.
Since this is a Puja for the deceased, no prasad is sent.
