The name "Chandi" has its roots in the Sanskrit word "chand," which means "tear apart." Chandi is the fierce embodiment of Goddess Durga. In the Shat Chandi Homa, a group of learned Brahmins recite verses from the sacred book Durga Saptashati 100 times. The Durga Saptashati or Chandi Path consists of 700 verses from the Markandeya Purana, which elaborate on the glory of Maa Durga. Reciting these verses is considered the most effective, meritorious, and beneficial way to worship the Mother Goddess. In the Markandeya Purana, Lord Brahma Himself stated that every human should recite Durga Saptashati as it offers protection. Reciting the Chandi Path blesses one with Vaikunth in the afterlife. The power and benefits of Sat Chandi Path and Yagya are mentioned in numerous Vedic scriptures such as Bhagavata Purana, Shrimad Devi Bhagwat, and many more. According to ancient sages, the verses of Durga Saptashati not only state the glories of the Mother Goddess but are also a formula or method. When these verses are sung or recited, they create powerful vibrations that destroy all negativities and bring immense auspiciousness. Sat Chandi Path bestows one with a fearless attitude and creates a protective shield against any negative influences in life. Anyone struggling with issues like huge debt, daily life challenges, and conflicts within the home or court cases can perform this path to get resolutions and blessings from Maa Chandi.

Nalkheda Temple is one of the few shrines dedicated to the worship of Baglamukhi Mata one of the Dus Mahavidyas (forms of Durga Mata). It is believed that the Baglamukhi Mata Idol placed here is Syayambhu (self incarnated) and this temple was established by Maharaj Yudhishthira at the behest of Bhagwan Krishna to win the Mahabharat war. It is close to Mahakaleswar Temple Jyotirlinga in Ujjain and thousands of devotees venerate Baglamukhi Mata at this temple especially during Navratri. Goddess Baglamukhi is a fierce manifestation of Goddess Shakti, as per scriptures She manifested to slay a demon who had a boon that whatever he speaks will come into existence. She is mostly depicted with Her pulling the tongue of the demon with one hand and the other hand holding a club ready to strike. Goddess Bagalamukhi is worshipped for paralyzing the power of speech, mind and body of the enemy. As she emerged from a lake of Turmeric – Haridra Sarovar, She got the name Pitambari Mata. She is primarily worshipped for victory in court cases and property matters.
The term 'Samputit' is derived from the Sanskrit word 'Samput', meaning a covering or shield that has the ability to draw divine energy together to provide immediate results. A Samput is recited before and after every mantra or path to enhance its power and offer quick results. It acts like a capsule that holds the medicine powder safely inside it. Samput can be in the form of a mantra or quatrain verses known as chaupai.
A Samputith Sat chandi Paath comprises of Vedic rituals where a specific mantra or path is recited before and after every path or mantra to increase the power and divinity of the Yagna or Homa. The Samputith Path may vary depending on the sankalp stated by the Yajman to perform the Sat chandi puja. Depending upon the sankalp, a Samputith Mantra or path is recited. The Yagna that is performed with Samputith Path is known to generate enormous divine energy and holds great value as it awakens the Supreme Devi and helps in attaining Her consent to fulfil the wishes of the Yajman.
A Samputith Yagna enhances the auspiciousness of the entire puja ritual and is known to be one of the purest and powerful forms of devotion which is performed with modesty and pure admiration to appease the Goddess. The difference between a Regular Sat chandi Paath and Samputith Sat chandi Paath is that, in a regular Sat chandi Homa, normal mantra chanting is performed in a continual manner, and all the other rituals are performed according to Vedic methods. Whereas, in a Samputith Sat chandi Homa, after every verse, mantra, or chapter, a specific mantra or path is recited depending upon the Sankalp or reason to perform the Homa. A Samputith Chandi Homa helps to gather all the power and divine energy of the path or mantra in one place and amplifies the energy to offer quick solutions.
