Shani Jayanti, also known as Shani Amavasya, is observed as the divine appearance day of Bhagwan Shani, the son of Surya Dev and the ruling deity of planet Saturn. Falling on Vaishakh Krishna Amavasya (Chaturdashi–Amavasya Tithi), this powerful occasion is dedicated to praying to the Lord of Karma, Discipline, and Justice.    

Bhagwan Shani, the Karma Karaka, is regarded as the divine judge who grants results according to one’s karma, guiding the soul toward discipline, responsibility, and spiritual growth. In Vedic astrology, Saturn is a slow-moving planet that represents discipline, karmic lessons, delays, and transformative challenges. His influence during Sade Sati or Dhaiya can bring challenges, difficulties, and periods of delay, but ultimately these phases guide one toward growth, maturity, and inner strength. However, when favourably placed, Shani Dev blesses the devotee with long life, wealth, land, stability, spiritual strength, and success earned through perseverance.

Puja Tokri includes an Amethyst mala with Hanuman Yantra locket, along with Shani Shingnapur prasad comprising a Shani photo, a blessed Shani Yantra with stand, a black thread, a horse shoe ring, and sweet offerings.
