According to legend, once an innocent love game between Bhagawan Shiva and Devi Parvati turned serious. It intensified to the point where Bhagawan Shiva intended to leave. Devi Parvati manifested as the fierce (Ugra roop) form of Maa Kali when all of Her efforts to appease Her beloved husband were unsuccessful. Upon seeing this terrifying form, it is said that Bhagawan Shiva fled, but in every direction he ran, he encountered another manifestation of the Divine Mother.
Consequently, the Dus Mahavidya manifested its ten forms. Thus, Bhagawan Shiva was unable to escape. He was made aware of the eternal love he shared with Devi Parvati by the Dus Mahavidyas.
When viewing the forms of the Dus Mahavidya, which ranged from terrifying (Ugra roop) to breathtakingly beautiful, it is said that Bhagawan Shiva experienced a spiritual awakening (Soumya roop). The Dus Mahavidya Devis are therefore manifestations of the Divine Mother who facilitate human energy upliftment and spiritual awakening.
In addition to the aforementioned, the Dus Mahavidya Mahayantra offers the following additional advantages:
Since Dus Mahavidya Mahayantra comprises a yantra of multiple yantra diagrams one can choose to pray to any of these diagrams individually. The process for worship of these diagrams remains similar to worshiping each one separately.
One can worship any of the diagrams of the Dus Mahavidya Mahayantra using the technique mentioned below.
Some may not be able to perform the puja as mentioned above, in this case one can follow the simple puja procedure mentioned below. Note that any form of worship done with a positive intention will bless the devotees.
Since Dus Mahavidya Mahayantra has multiple diagrams it is advisable to first and foremost meditate on any one diagram so you can achieve union with it. The diagram can be selected based on the principle you wish to manifest in your life; for instance, if you wish to attract wealth, you can meditate on Tara or Kamala yantras first, whereas if you desire victory, courage, and protection, you should meditate on Kali or Bhairavi yantras first. The meditation technique for each individual yantra is identical to that used for each yantra individually.
In an oversimplified sense one must recreate the specific Yantra diagram accurately in the mind and visualize it. This visualization technique may sound simple but is quite tough to achieve, one must spend years of sadhana just to create an accurate image of the diagram in their head.
One can start by sitting in a comfortable posture facing east with an accurate image of Yantra at their Eye Level.
Perform Pranayama Anolom Vilom (Alternating nostril breaths) 10 times & meditate to purify your mind and thoughts.
Start by focusing on the Centre Point of the yantra with your gaze going from inward to outward. Focus on each Avaran (step) of the diagram and spend some time focusing on its shape, curvature, diagram.
Once you reach the outermost gate or step start shifting your gaze from outwards to the centre point inwards.
Try to avoid blinking your eyes during this process. You can do this for multiple rounds for 30 minutes.
After you can focus with intent for at least 30 minutes (the stamina to just focus may take quite some time to develop) close your eyes and try to recreate the image of the Yantra Diagram accurately.
Once you can create and sustain an accurate image of Yantra in your mind try to focus one by one on the steps mentioned above and go from Bindu to Outermost gate & Back to Bindu however all this needs to be done in your mind in meditation with your eyes closed.
This visualization technique takes many years to master and bless the Sadhak with material success as well as spiritual augmentation.
Once you master this technique for all the individual yantras present in Dus Mahavidya Mahayantra you can try to visualize them in conjunction just how they are placed on the Yantra sheet.
