What is Hanuman Yantra?

Yantras are intricate and powerful geometric diagrams that hold profound significance in various cultures and traditions. They are geometric representations of specific Deities/Energies like how Mantras are audio/verbal representations of different Gods. Yantras act as channels to invoke the blessings and qualities of these specific deities. The Hanuman Yantra is a talisman that safeguards the dwelling and the dwellers from evil eyes and negative energies. In order to safeguard yourself from evil eyes and negative energies, you can install the Hanuman Yantra in your house, office or even wear it as an ornament. Hanuman Yantra is renowned for its potent energy and connection to Bhagawan Hanuman's spiritual vibrations. The devotee of this yantra is bestowed with joy, optimism, self-assurance, and mental and physical strength.

The 2-dimensional diagram of Hanuman Yantra comprises a main Circle with two opposed semicircles or half-moon shapes on both sides of the Circle representing unwavering Devotion beyond dualities. They are associated with the Sun (Soul Consciousness) and the Moon (Mind Consciousness) which are polar opposites. As they are within the main Circle it indicates they must be understood and transcended. According to astrological tradition the Sun stands for the masculine principle, the father, action, vitality and willpower. On the opposite side, the Moon is associated with the feminine principle, the mother, emotions, feelings, instincts and reactions, and receptivity. This duality or opposition denotes the life cycle, with the Sun representing involvement in the world and the Moon introspection and contemplation. When these two polar opposites are transcended beyond dualities they merge into Bhagawan Hanuman who stands for Active Devotion and the achievement of Perfection. Eight petals surround the main circle with etched numerals, also on the two semicircles within the main circle. These 10 numbers represent the 10 senses (5 inwards and 5 outwards) which are also called Gyanendriya and Karmendriya. They also represent the 10 planets, the Navgraha and the Earth. The outermost rectangular Squares represent the material world.

The geometry is meticulously designed to generate specific vibrational patterns that resonate with Bhagawan Hanuman's qualities and energies. By meditating and focusing on the Yantra, practitioners hope to connect with the divine energy of Bhagawan Hanuman, seek his protection, and cultivate his virtues in their own lives. Therefore, the Hanuman Yantra is a visual representation of Bhagawan Hanuman's divine energy and qualities.

Bhagawan Hanuman symbolizes pure devotion, total surrender, and the absence of the ego or lower self. His character reveals what we can accomplish in life if we become pure devotees of God, align ourselves with the forces of good, assist the weak, and practice self-discipline, unwavering faith, and total surrender. As a renowned warrior, he imparts the significance of the lower self or animal nature in man, which, when refined and transformed, becomes rooted in God and serves the divine cause with complete devotion. This is Hanuman's significance at its core.

Hanuman is held in high regard as a symbol of goodness, righteousness, and dharma (righteousness). He symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and the triumph of righteousness over adversity. Hanuman's character serves as a moral compass, inspiring people to uphold dharma and make moral decisions.

How to Meditate on Hanuman Yantra? (Visualization Technique)

Meditating on the Hanuman Yantra is the most powerful way to achieve union with the diagram. Achieving the union is said to reveal all secrets of the world and one is supposed to gain access to knowledge of higher realms. In an oversimplified sense one must recreate the Hanuman Yantra diagram accurately in the mind and visualize it. This visualization technique may sound simple but is quite tough to achieve, one must spend years of sadhana just to create an accurate image of the diagram in their head.

One can start by sitting in a comfortable posture facing east with an accurate image of Hanuman Yantra at their Eye Level.

Perform Pranayama Anolom Vilom (Alternating nostril breaths) 10 times & meditate to purify your mind and thoughts.

Start by focusing on the Centre Point Bindu with your gaze going inward to outward from the Bindu to the 1st Layer containing a Circle. Into this circle focus your gaze in the middle part of the circle. Then move your gaze to the 2nd Layer which is the left semicircle within the circle to the 3rd Layer which is the right semicircle within the same circle to the 4th Layer contemplating the full Circle. Then expand your gaze to the 5th Layer comprising 8 Petals and then to the 6th Layer of Squares in the outermost part. These are the steps or Avaran of Hanuman yantra.

Then your gaze should go from the Outermost Gate back to the Bindu.

Try to avoid blinking your eyes during this process. You can do this for multiple rounds for 30 minutes.

After you can focus with intent for at least 30 minutes (the stamina to just focus may take quite some time to develop) close your eyes and try to recreate the image of the Hanuman Yantra Diagram accurately.

Once you can create and sustain an accurate image of Hanuman Yantra in your mind try to focus one by one on the steps mentioned above and go from Bindu to Outermost gate & Back to Bindu however all this needs to be done in your mind in meditation with your eyes closed.

This visualization technique takes many years to master and bless the Sadhak with material success as well as spiritual augmentation.
