Siddhivinayak Ganesh is the third among Ashtavinayak .In this Idol, the trunk of Lord Ganesha is turned right, so a name Siddhivinayak is given, meaning the giver of shakti or siddhi. This form of Ganpati is considered very dynamic.

It is believed that it was on the Siddhtek Mountain, where Vishnu acquired Siddhi. Another belief is that the creator of the Vedas, Ved Vyas, also meditated here before authoring the Vedas, thus pleasing Ganesh. Then Vishnu created a temple on that hill where he got his wish and placed the statue of Gajanan and this form was worshipped as Siddhivinayak meaning Grantor of wishes.

Ashtavinayak literally means "eight forms of Ganeshas " in Sanskrit namely Shri Mayureshwar, Shri Siddhivinayak, Shri Ballaleshwar, Shri Varadavinayak, Shri Chintamani, Shri Girijatmaj, Shri Vighnahar, Shri Mahaganapati. 

Each of these forms has its own individual mythology and history, as distinct from each other as the idols in each temple. 

Ganesha deity is worshipped for Siddhi (success in undertaking) and buddhi (intelligence). He is the God of education, knowledge, wisdom, literature and the fine arts. His worship removes malefics of planets Mars and Ketu.
