What is Bhairav Yantra?

Yantras are intricate and powerful geometric diagrams that hold profound significance in various cultures and traditions. They are geometric representations of specific Deities/Energies like how Mantras are audio/verbal representations of different Gods. Yantras act as channels to invoke the blessings and qualities of these specific deities. Worshiping Bhairav Yantra frees the devotee from miseries of life, fears of untimely death, diseases and brings many more blessings. The origin of Bhairav is mentioned in the Kali Khand chapter of the Shakti Sangama Tantra, an ancient text. He is said to be a form of Bhagawan Shiva. Though the Bhairav forms of Bhairav Shiva are considered fierce, the iconography of Bhairav Batuk Bhairav depicts Bhairav Shiva as a child of about 5 years old with four hands. In each of His hands, He is seen holding a Mace, Damru, a Skull or head of a man, a Snake or rope. A Dog is His vehicle or vahana. Batuk Bhairav is said to be one of the most worshiped of the Kaal Bhairav forms of Bhairav Shiva.

The 2-dimensional diagram of Bhairav Yantra comprises two interlocking triangles; the upper symbolizes Shiva, Purusha, and the lower represents Shakti, Prakriti (also known as Shatkona or Six-Pointed Star) surrounding the Central Point or Bindu with an etched OM symbol on it. Followed by four expanding circles radiating outwards meaning rotation and constant progression and expansion, which take up most of the yantra's geometry, creating an expansive effect when focusing on the yantra. Four rectangular Squares extended through the four cardinal directions at the borders complete the powerful geometry of this life-changing yantra capable of removing all of a person's miseries and increasing their well-being towards the fulfillment of all material desires and the attainment of spiritual progress. Bhairav yantra is also one of the most powerful protective yantras.

Baghawan Bhairav Shiva is an intense and transformative energy. The Bhairav Yantra serves as a focal point for connecting with and channeling this powerful energy. It is thought to aid in the removal of obstacles, the destruction of negativity, and the defeat of fear and limitations. This yantra represents liberation from attachments and limitations, which leads to spiritual growth and liberation. The Bhairav Yantra symbolizes the fleeting nature of life and the importance of accepting change. It represents Bhagawan Bhairav's transformative power to help people overcome their fear of death and transcend the limitations of time.

Bhagawan Bhairav is regarded as a powerful protector and guardian deity. He is said to guard his followers against negative influences, evil spirits, and malevolent energies. He is invoked when seeking protection, courage, and fearlessness in the face of difficulties and challenges. He is also known as the god of time and represents the fleeting nature of life. He is sometimes shown with a dog as a vehicle, symbolizing his ability to move quickly through time and his connection to the natural cycles of life and death.

Devotion to Bhairav Yantra is a way to connect with the fierce and transformative energies both within and outside of oneself. One can overcome obstacles, transcend limitations, and progress on the path of spiritual growth and self-realization by surrendering to Bhagawan Bhairav's power and seeking his guidance.

How to Meditate on Bhairav Yantra? (Visualization Technique)

Meditating on the Bhairav Yantra is the most powerful way to achieve union with the diagram. Achieving the union is said to reveal all secrets of the world and one is supposed to gain access to knowledge of higher realms. In an oversimplified sense one must recreate the Bhairav Yantra diagram accurately in the mind and visualize it. This visualization technique may sound simple but is quite tough to achieve, one must spend years of sadhana just to create an accurate image of the diagram in their head.

One can start by sitting in a comfortable posture facing east with an accurate image of Bhairav Yantra at their Eye Level.

Perform Pranayama Anolom Vilom (Alternating nostril breaths) 10 times & meditate to purify your mind and thoughts.

Start by focusing on the Centre Point Bindu with your gaze going inward to outward from the Bindu to the 1st Layer of the Shaktona or two interlocked triangles to the 2nd Layer featuring a circle, to the 3rd Layer with a second circle to the 4th Layer with a third circle to the 5th Layer with the fourth circle. Then move your gaze to the 6th Layer of Squares in the outermost part. These are the steps or Avaran of Bhairav yantra.

Then your gaze should go from the Outermost Gate back to the Bindu.

Try to avoid blinking your eyes during this process. You can do this for multiple rounds for 30 minutes.

After you can focus with intent for at least 30 minutes (the stamina to just focus may take quite some time to develop) close your eyes and try to recreate the image of the Bhairav Yantra Diagram accurately.

Once you can create and sustain an accurate image of Bhairav Yantra in your mind try to focus one by one on the steps mentioned above and go from Bindu to Outermost gate & Back to Bindu however all this needs to be done in your mind in meditation with your eyes closed.

This visualization technique takes many years to master and bless the Sadhak with material success as well as spiritual augmentation.
