Chinnamastika meaning 'She whose head is severed' is one of the ten Mahavidyas. She is the sixth form of Divine Mother which symbolizes Her ferocious and wrathful aspect. Chhinnamasta Devi is associated with the self-sacrifice and is often depicted as headless holding her own self-decapitated severed head in one hand and khadga (sword) in another hand with streams of blood string from her neck. Chinnamastika Devi is worshipped by Her sadhaks for removal of dark forces and obstacles, for victory over enemies, protection and spiritual upliftment. The Chinnamastika Devi temple at Ramnagar (Varanasi) is considered as one of the most revered temple dedicated to Chinnamastika Devi. The puja will be held within the premises of the temple.
