Ganesh Laxmi Shaligram Murti I

This divine idol features carving of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi on the sacred stone of Shaligram. Both Deities are portrayed seated on Lotus in Lalitasana pose with Their right hand raised in blessing pose. Lord Ganesha holds weapons in His upper arms in His left hand palm holds a sweet signifying sweet fruits of devotion in form of liberation. Goddess Laxmi with each of Her upper arm holding Lotus flower signifies spiritual practice and enlightenment. Her left hand in Varad mudra with coins flowing from it signifies blessings of opulence and riches. The fine carving illustrates the clothing and jewels of the Deities. The back of the stone has natural spiral pattern. Due to natural black colour, the idol looks exotic and divine. Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganesha are worshipped together for blessings of abundance, fortune and success in all endeavors. Shaligram adds to the divinity of the idol, making the idol highly efficient in removing Vastu defects. 

Shaligram is a sacred stone which is collected from Gandaki Kali River in Nepal. The Shaligram idol does not need to undergo the ritual of Pranprathistha (life invoking ritual), as Shaligram is the representation of Lord Vishnu himself. The regular worship includes an Abhishekum with pure water or Tulsi water and with panchamrti (combination of five substances which includes cow milk, curd, sugar, ghee and honey).
