Gayatri in Shaligram Murti

This enchanting idol of Goddess Gayatri is skilfully carved in Sahligram Shila which auspicious to be worshipped at home. The Shaligram Shila is a self-manifested stone which represents Lord Vishnu and has been worshipped since ancient times. Goddess Gayatri is said to be the personification of the superiorly potent Gayatri mantra, a Vedic mantra of 24 syllables. Divine Maa Gayatri is also said to be the consort of Lord Brahma, and a form of Goddess Saraswati. Gayatri Devi is believed to be the combined energies of Goddess Parvati, Laxmi and Saraswati. This Shaligram idol portrays Goddess Gayatri with five heads, which symbolize the 5 elements. The idol is precisely carved with crowns on each head, pleasant expression on each face and the Devi is adorned with ornaments and attire. She is sitting in Lalithasana and Her lowest right hand is raised in the Abhaya mudra, which stands for blessings and protection. Her lowest left hand is in the Varada mudra, which signifies granting boons and fulfilling wishes of devotees. In Her other eight hands Gayatri Devi is holding various weapons and auspicious objects, like, the Sudarshan Chakra, Lotus, Noose etc. Worshipping Goddess Gayatri and chanting the Gayatri mantra blesses with success, contentment, healing of various aspects of life, creative skills, wisdom, spiritual growth and more. Regular worship of Shaligram shila is done by performing the sacred bathing, Abhishek, with water and Tulsi leaves and a mixture of Cow Milk(without boiling), Curd, Ghee, Honey, Sugar.
