Goddess Pratyangira Devi marble idol

The powerful Goddess Pratyangira Idol is carved in pure White Marble, in detail with precision. It is skilfully hand painted in Golden colour to highlight the Idol along with other colours, sparingly used to define various aspects, like Her Tongue which protrudes out. Pratyangira Devi is seen sitting on Her Vahana, the Lion, who is in ferocious mode. The Goddess has a well crafted Lion face, has three eyes, Her two lower hands are holding a Trishul(Trident) and the head of a Demon in each respectively. A Snake hood is seen above Her haloed head, guarding Her.

Pratyangira Devi is an aggressive form of the Divine Mother, who protects Her devotees from evil and is famous for shielding and eliminating Black Magic, witchcraft and other lower energies. She guards Her devotees against any harm from enemies. Goddess Pratyangira Devi is popularly worshipped in South India but responds to whoever invokes Her. In ancient scriptures She is referred to as Bhadrakali too. As per Mythology, She was created from the Third Eye of Lord Shiva for calming down Lord Narsimha, Lord Vishnu's 4th Avatar.
