    Goddess Tripura Sundari is the third amongst the Dus Mahavidya Goddesses. She is known by many names such as Lalita, Kamesvari, Srividya, Kamaksi, Shodashi and more. The name Tripura Sundari literally means the one who is most beautiful in the three worlds. She is regarded as the manifestation of Goddess Shakti or Parvati. In Shakism Goddess Tripura Sundari is one of the most significant Goddesses considered equal to Goddess Kali. Shakti Sadhaks worship Her as Adi Shakti or Parambrahma. In scriptures such as Lalita Sahasranama, Tripura Upanishad and Brahmand Puran She is glorified as the Supreme Consciousness, the one who is responsible for creation, sustenance and destruction. In Sri Vidya tradtion Goddess Tripura Sundari is the primary goddess who is worshipped as the Sri Yantra. Here She is regarded as the Goddess of the three States of Consciousness which are Jagrati, Swapna, Shushupti. One of the most famous temples dedicated to Goddess Tripura Sundari is the Tripureshwari Temple located at Matabari, Udaipur in the state of Tripura. The temple is located about 50 kilometers from Agartala and is one of the 51 Shakti Peetha dedicated to Goddess Shakti. Here it is believed that the leg of the corpse of Maa Sati fell. The temple is built in Bengali- Buddhist style, with a square sanctum and pond with turtles and fishes, the temple is also known as Kurma Peeth. Goddess Tripura Sundari is primarily worshipped for seeking Divine perfection or Supreme beauty. She is the one who blesses Her devotees with knowledge, progress and finally liberation.
