The Gayatri Mantra, known as the mūla mantra or “root mantra” of Hinduism, is a powerful invocation of eternal wisdom and spiritual enlightenment.

According to Vedic tradition, it is on this auspicious day that Maa Gayatri appeared before sage Vishwamitra, blessing him with the vision of the Gayatri Mantra to restore spiritual wisdom and righteousness in the world.

Transliteration:

“Om bhur bhuvah svah tat savitur varenyam bhargo devasya dhimahi dhiyo yo nah prachodayat”
