Narasimha Shaligram Murti III

This divine protector Lord Narasimha beautifully carved on a sacred Shaligram stone ushers immense protection. In this idol, Lord Narasimha is portrayed as Chhatra-Narasimha, seated under a parasol of Ananta Shesha Naag and on seat of coiled tail of Shesha. Seated in Lalitasana pose, He is raising His right hand in Abhayam mudra signifying assurance of protection while His left hand is in Varad mudra, the boon conferring gesture. His upper arms are raised and holding weapons. The commendable craftmanship is truly reflected in the fine carving featuring intricate aspects of jewels, physical features, scales of Shesha which looks life-like. And the natural trace of gold on exotic black colour of the stone gives the idol a very rich appeal. Lord Narasimha is half-man and half-lion incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He represents protection in the time of distress and victory of good over evil. Worshiping the Narsimha Shaligram bestows protection from all harms, negative influences, evil spirits, evil eye, Vastu defects and diseases. Shaligram are sacred stones that does not need to undergo the ritual of Pranprathistha (life invoking ritual), as Shaligram is the representation of Lord Vishnu himself. It is collected from Gandaki Kali River in Nepal. The worship of Shaligram focuses on six virtues of life which includes creation of wealth, good health, world and spiritual pleasures, spiritual progress, protection and righteous living. The regular worship includes an Abhishek with Tulsi water and with panchamrti (combination of five substances which includes cow milk, curd, sugar, ghee and honey).
