Runa (Rin) Vimochana Homam

As per scriptures, a person acquires during the course of his life five types of Rin or Runa (Dharmic Debts). Any person who does not repay these Runas (Rins) in his life has to face many kinds of miseries, sorrows and obstacles. One of the reasons for the cycle of repeated birth, death and re-birth are because of the various Karmic debts which remain unpaid. Ancient sages in Vedic scriptures have mentioned 5 different types of Runa (Rin)s, why a person acquires them and how one may pay them off.  

These different types of Runa (Rin)s are:  

Pitru Runa (Rin) - Pitru Runa (Rin) is the karmic debt which one owes to one\'s father and also ancestors. This Runa (Rin) gets cleared when one respects his elders; perform final rites of the father upon his demise and shraddh for departed ancestors.  

Matru Runa (Rin) - Matru Runa (Rin) is the debt which one owes to his mother. This Runa (Rin) cannot be repaid, and a person always remains indebted to his mother.  

Dev Runa (Rin) - Dev Runa (Rin) is the debt which one owes to Gods. This Runa (Rin) is repaid with worship and Bhakti.  

Rusha Runa (Rin) - Rusha Runa (Rin) is the debt which one owes to Sages or Rishis. This Runa (Rin) is repaid with a person lives his life as per teaching and wisdom of sages, attains knowledge and passes it to others.  

Manushya Runa (Rin) - Manushya Runa (Rin) is the debt which one owes to other human beings. This Runa (Rin) is repaid by indulging in charity, donating to less privileged and treating others with love and respect.  

Bhuta Runa (Rin) - Bhuta Runa (Rin) is the debt which one owns to the environment/society. This Runa (Rin) is repaid with planting trees, loving and caring for animals and by not polluting the environment.  

In case someone is unable to pay off these Runa (Rin)s, one may perform Runa (Rin) Vimochana Homam to atone for his sins, seek forgiveness and for seeking relief from this debt. In this Homa, Lord Narasimha along with Goddess Laxmi are invoked and worshipped. The puja blesses devotees with respite from all karmic debts which leads to spiritual growth and relief from financial debts, misfortunes, losses and other problems.
