Shiva Trishul (Trident) Brass Bell

The Shiva trishul (trident) idol is crafted beautifully from brass by Kumbakonam artisans in Tamil Nadu. The three heads of the trishul symbolise the three functions of the triad, which are creation, sustenance and destruction. Lord Shiva holding a trident indicates that all three aspects are in his control. 

It also represents the past, present and future as well as death, ascension and resurrection. The trishul also represents the three aspects of consciousness- waking, dreaming and sleeping. It also represents the three Gunas- Sattva, Rajas and Tamas. 

The idol is made by lost-wax process, also called cire-perdue, a method of metal casting in which a molten metal is poured into a mould that has been created by means of a wax model. Once the mould is made, the wax is melted and drained away. 

You can place it in the north-east corner, also known as Ishaan corner.
