Shaligram is sacred stone collected from Gandaki Kali River in Nepal which represents Lord Vishnu. The worship of Shaligram focuses on six virtues of life which includes creation of wealth, good health, world and spiritual pleasures, spiritual progress, protection and righteous living. 

The worship of the Shaligram Shila bestows good health, wealth, prosperity, righteous living, material comfort, spiritual growth, success, supreme protection, a harmonious and joyful family life, relief from miseries, and abundance. Shaligram shila is known to offer happiness, prosperity and elevation in social status, as some of its blessings on the devotee. 

According to many Puranas, the worship of Shaligram is said to bless the worshipper with material comforts, longevity of life, good health and success in all undertakings. By worshipping a Shaligram a devotee is blessed with confidence and fearlessness and is also protected against evil eye and negative energies of all sought. 

As per Padma Purana, Skanda Purana and other Vedic Scriptures, a devotee who worships Shaligram is blessed with health, wealth, prosperity, good spouse and children. As per Padma Purana, devotees who worship the Salagrama will utmost devotion will break the cycle of life and death and attain Vaikuntha or Moksha. Shaligram helps in removal of all hurdles and obstacles and helps in wish fulfilment.

Puranas confirm that on the material front, shaligram bestows worldly luxuries, longevity, good health, and success while on the spiritual front, it calms the mind, clears the clutter from our thoughts if Shaligram is worshipped at home. 

The Shaligram Shila is regularly worshipped by performing the sacred bathing, Abhishek, with pure water or Tulsi water and Tulsi leaves and a mixture of Cow Milk (without boiling), Curd, Ghee, Honey, Sugar. When worshipped with dedication, Lord Vishnu liberates devotees from the cycle of birth and death.

According to Vedic Astrology and as mentioned in Srimad Bhagavatam (2.6.42), Lord Vishnu is the Lord of all creations; he is the one who controls the Navgraha, time and space. He is the divine power that maintains the balance and equilibrium in the universe and between all the celestial bodies. Thus, if there is any planetary dosha in the natal charge of an individual, it is suggested to worship Lord Vishnu in form of Shaligram Shila.
