Bhoomi Dosh Nivaran Shanti Puja is done to purify a place, land, construction site or dwelling. As per Vastu Shastra a site may get infested with negativity or negative energy when a death has taken place there or some inauspicious activity such as burial of carcasses of dead animals, garbage, burnt wood or hair, blood-stained articles, burial of bones by dogs would have taken place there in the past. To nullify the malefic effects of Bhoomi Dosha and other Vastu defects, Bhoomi Dosh Nivaran Puja is conducted. In this Puja, Bhumi Devi is worshipped along with Vastu Purusha, Mud Kachua and Mangal Dev.
