Legends: Idol of Siddhivinayaka Mahaganapati of Titwala was consecrated by Sage Kanva. He suggested Shakuntala to worship the idol of Lord Ganesh to pacify the curse of sage Durvasa and help her unite and get married with King Dushyant after long period of separation. The current temple of Titwala was re-consecrated by Peshwas.
