What is Vishnu Yantra?

Yantras are intricate and powerful geometric diagrams that hold profound significance in various cultures and traditions. They are geometric representations of specific Deities/Energies like how Mantras are audio/verbal representations of different Gods. Yantras act as channels to invoke the blessings and qualities of these specific deities. The Vishnu Yantra is a sacred geometric diagram that depicts Bhagawan Vishnu, one of Hinduism's most important deities. It is a visual representation of Bhagawan Vishnu's divine energies and attributes and is regarded as a powerful tool for meditation, worship, and spiritual connection. The Vishnu Yantra is made up of various geometric shapes, patterns, and symbols that are arranged in a specific formation to represent various aspects of Bhagawan Vishnu's divine powers and qualities.

The 2-dimensional diagram of Vishnu Yantra comprises a Bindu Center Point which is the main focal point for concentration in the yantra and which also signifies the connection with Bhagawan Vishnu, and it is surrounded by to interlocked Triangles or Shaktona, standing for the unification of masculine (Shiva) and feminine (Shakti) energies. Circles standing for movement and rotation and an amalgamation of Lotus petals in beautiful patterns creates a splendorous yantra that looks like a blossoming flower. All these lotus petals represent enlightenment, purity, and transcendence. In a yantra, the lotus is typically depicted with its petals extending outwards along the circumference of a circle. The lotus symbolizes the unfolding of one's divine essence. The lotus represents the center of creation. Outside of the circle are forms resembling the petals of an unfolding lotus. The petals are pointed toward the exterior for a reason. It represents the expansion of our understanding and the opening of our minds. The lotus is also a symbol of the heart, particularly its inner or hidden chamber. This location is sometimes referred to as Brahma's cave, Brahma's city in the East, or the inner castle in the West. This is the essence of being that is unaffected by daily life. Four Squares enclose the whole diagram. The Square is referred to as the ‘Guru Gyan Bhupura’ and it represents the Earth Element that resides in the physical self. Taken together, the yantra resonates with the essence, nature and power of Bhagawan Vishnu and blesses their worshipers with his divine protection and material prosperity.

Vishnu is revered as the universe's preserver and protector. He maintains the order and harmony of the universe by ensuring the equilibrium between creation, preservation, and dissolution. He embodies characteristics such as compassion, justice, mercy, and forgiveness. It is believed that he incarnated on Earth in various forms, known as avatars, to defend dharma (righteousness) and restore its equilibrium when it was threatened, being the most famous, Krishna.

Devotees worship Bhagawan Vishnu for protection against evil forces, negative influences, and spiritual obstacles. He is considered the ultimate refuge and source of divine grace and blessings. Numerous symbols and objects are associated with Bhagawan Vishnu, such as the conch shell (representing the primordial sound of creation), the discus (representing the power of time and protection), the mace (representing the strength of righteousness), and the lotus flower (which represents purity and spiritual liberation).

Bhagawan Vishnu is one of the principal Hindu deities, worshiped as the protector and preserver of the world and restorer of dharma. He rules over peace, power, strength, compassion, love, abundance, success, victory. Vishnu Yantra is used for worshiping Bhagawan Vishnu.

Yantras are sacred geometrical patterns which are actually wave patterns of different Deities & Energies created by their inherent frequency. How to Meditate on Vishnu Yantra? (Visualization Technique)

Meditating on the Vishnu Yantra is the most powerful way to achieve union with the diagram. Achieving the union is said to reveal all secrets of the world and one is supposed to gain access to knowledge of higher realms. In an oversimplified sense one must recreate the Vishnu Yantra diagram accurately in the mind and visualize it. This visualization technique may sound simple but is quite tough to achieve, one must spend years of sadhana just to create an accurate image of the diagram in their head.

One can start by sitting in a comfortable posture facing east with an accurate image of Vishnu Yantra at their Eye Level.

Perform Pranayama Anolom Vilom (Alternating nostril breaths) 10 times & meditate to purify your mind and thoughts.

Start by focusing on the Centre Point Bindu with your gaze going inward to outward from the Bindu to the 1st Layer of the Shaktona or two interlocked triangles to 2nd Layer of the Circle to the 3rd Layer of 8 Petals of Lotus to the 4th Layer of the Circle to the 5th Layer of 12 Petals of Lotus to the 6th Layer of the Circle to the 7th Layer of the 4 Squares in the outermost part. These are the steps or Avaran of Vishnu yantra.

Then your gaze should go from the Outermost Gate back to the Bindu.

Try to avoid blinking your eyes during this process. You can do this for multiple rounds for 30 minutes.

After you can focus with intent for at least 30 minutes (the stamina to just focus may take quite some time to develop) close your eyes and try to recreate the image of the Vishnu Yantra Diagram accurately.

Once you can create and sustain an accurate image of Vishnu Yantra in your mind try to focus one by one on the steps mentioned above and go from Bindu to Outermost gate & Back to Bindu however all this needs to be done in your mind in meditation with your eyes closed.

This visualization technique takes many years to master and bless the Sadhak with material success as well as spiritual augmentation.
