Blowing Bull Horn for Puja

This traditional Indian bull hornpipe is commonly used during pujas and festivals. Highlighting brass ends for embellishment and enhanced blowing capabilities, this instrument has been used in rituals since ancient times. The hornpipe, also known as Pepa, Ranasringa, Kombu, and Sringa, holds great significance in the Bihu festival, the rice harvest festival and the Assamese new year.

In Dharma, just as the cow is revered as a nurturing mother for providing milk, the bull is utilized in farming for ploughing, transporting, and cultivating crops. Therefore, bulls are a blessing to us, and products made from them during pujas and rituals are considered meritorious.
