This fresh and unopened tender coconut flower is ideally used in Nirapara customs during wedding ceremonies and pujas. In Nirapara custom, the coconut flower is inserted on kalash or pot filled with paddy rice. The Nirapa is offered to Deities during harvesting festivals like Pongal or Onam or put to display during most wedding ceremonies as symbolism of auspiciousness. The coconut flower is also used as a fixture or decoration during festivals or pujas.
