Durga Puja and Yajna

Durga Puja and Yajna is performed to invoke the divine grace and protective power of Goddess Durga through sacred worship, intensive Durga Bija Mantra Japa and Homa. 
Maa Durga is the Divine Mother and the embodiment of Shakti—the supreme power that protects righteousness and destroys forces of negativity and adharma. According to the sacred tradition, Goddess Durga manifested through the combined divine energies of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva to defeat the powerful demon Mahishasura. Her name “Durga” signifies the One who is invincible and who carries Her devotees safely through difficulties and obstacles.  

Goddess Durga embodies courage, strength, protection and victory. She is worshipped for overcoming obstacles, adversities, fears and negative influences and for receiving Her blessings for success, prosperity, health, harmony and spiritual growth. As the compassionate Divine Mother, Maa Durga protects Her devotees while giving them the inner strength and confidence to face the challenges of life. She is worshipped by many sacred names and forms, including Ambika, Amba, Bhavani, Shakti, Gauri, Bhadrakali and Kalika. She is also revered as Mahamaya, the great cosmic power through which the universe manifests. 

A significant part of this Puja is the repeated chanting of the powerful Durga Bija Mantra “Om Dum Durgayai Namah.” The Bija Dum is traditionally associated with Maa Durga and Her protective Shakti. The mantra is chanted multiple times according to the selected Japa count, followed by Yajna in which offerings are made into the sacred fire with Durga Mantras. 

The Puja, Mantra Japa and Yajna are performed by experienced Vedic Pandits with Sankalpa in the name of the Yajman. The combined worship, concentrated Mantra Japa and sacred fire offerings invoke the blessings of Maa Durga for protection, courage, strength, success and overall wellbeing.

Video of Sankalpa (sacred intention), along with multiple videos of the Puja, mantra chanting, and Homa, will be shared with you in real-time while the rituals are being performed.
