    About Lord Tirupati Balaji Idols

    Venkateswara, (also called as?rinivas?, B?l?ji, Ve?ka??, and Ve?ka??calapati) is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Venkateswara's most noticeable place of worship is the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple situated in Tirupathi, Andhra Pradesh in South India. A Vedic legend says that after a fight with Lord Vishnu, Goddess Lakshmi left His abode and settled on earth. Lord Vishnu descended in search of Hers but met a beautiful woman named Padmavati and decided to marry her.

    Her father asked for massive money as a bridal price. For this, Lord Vishnu borrowed money from the heavenly treasurer Kubera who lent the money on a condition that He cannot return to His abode until the entire borrowed money is paid off. Today, Lord Vishnu lives in Tirumala as Tirupati Venkateshwar. Devotees offer riches, donations to help the Lord clear off the debts and depart for His heavenly abode.
