About Lord Mahakal | Significance of Mahakal Pooja & Yajgna

Lord Mahakal is one of the fiercest forms of Lord Shiva. The word ‘Mahakal’ is made by cojoining two words where ‘Maha’ refers to ‘Great’ and ‘Kal’ literally translates to ‘Time’. Thus, the name ‘Mahakal’ means the great one who rules time and death. He is the one who is beyond the cycles and concepts of death, time, fear, and life. Mahakal being the terrifying form of Lord Shiva is also known to be the spouse of the fierce Mahakali. Both the deities, Mahakal and Mahakali are known as the epitome and ultimate devastating potential energies of the Supreme Brahmana. They are not bound by any rules and have the capacity to dissolve the whole universe including the time and space and still exist in the form of Void. Mahakal dissolves the whole universe after every Kalpa. According to the iconography of Lord Mahakal, He is depicted having blue or black complexion signifying His all-embracing nature. Just the way colour black absolves all the other colours similarly, all the forms that ever existed are known to dissolve into the great Mahakal. He wears a garland of skulls and is seen seated on corpses. He is known to dwell at the cremation grounds. He is known to destroy in order to maintain the balance and brings life to new creation which can take the place of the dissolved beings. The wild Elephants are worshipped in some parts of Odisha, Jharkhand, and Dooars (that is, in eastern Bengal) as the manifestations of Lord Mahakal. The glories of Lord Mahakal are detailed in numerous Puranas and Vedic scriptures such as Shiva Purana, Skandpurana, Varaha Purana, Rudrayamala Tantra, Rudrasamhita and many more.

After completion of all puja rituals certain items are donated by Rudra Centre Puja Services on behalf of the Yajman/Participant of the Puja as per Hindu Shastras. Dakshina is given to the pandits after chanting the Mantras, some items are donated to poor people, some are donated to temples, some items are offered to animals like cows, dogs, cats, birds which helps in wish fulfilment of the Yajman/Participant as per the sankalpa

Puja Prasad Sent After Mahakal Puja

Puja Basket/Tokri consisting of energized Items will be shipped to the Yajman/Participant on their given address. These Items have been used & energized in the puja and hold on to the energy of mantra chanting & rituals.This Puja Tokri will consist of: 

Shiv Yantra: Yantras are geometric representation of deities. This yantra can be kept in your purse/wallet/laptop bag/drawer/cash box/puja altar. The best direction for the yantra will be North East Facing South West 
7 Mukhi Rudraksha: 7 mukhi blesses the yajman with prosperity & peace. This can be worn on the right hand as a bracelet for best results. You can get in touch with RRST therapist for guidance 
Silver Tabeez: This amulet consists of Mahakal Puja Mantra written on Bhojpatra which was energized in the puja. It can be worn in the neck 
Molly Thread: This Holy thread can be tied on the right hand 
Dry Fruits Prasad: These were offered to Lord Mahakal during the puja and can be consumed by the Yajman/Participant 
Puja Coins: Puja coin of Ganesh, Laxmi & Saraswati will be sent which can be kept in your purse/wallet/laptop bag/drawer/cash box/puja alter and blesses the yajman/participant with prosperity & luck 
Tilaks: Haldi Kumkum Sandalwood Paste/Powders are sent which can be applied on the Yantra, Deity Idols or Forehead while doing puja 
Vibhuti/Holy Ash: The Ash from the Mahakal Puja will be sent which can be applied on your forehead, throat, chest, biceps 
Holy Betel Nut: Betel Nut decorated in holy thread will be sent for good luck 
Prosperity Bowl: A Prosperity Bowl consisting of Gomati Chakra, Cowry, Sriphal, Lotus Seeds and Shell to be kept in cash box or wallet or money lockers for financial prosperity

Mahakal Puja Instructions | What to do when Mahakal Puja is being performed?

The below mentioned instructions are just suggestions to attune to the puja, however due to hectic/busy lifestyle one may not be able to follow all the suggestions mentioned below and it is completely okay you will still receive the benefits of the puja

Have a Bath & Wear Clean Clothes Before the Puja
Avoid Eating Spicy Foods, Onion, Garlic, Non-Vegetarian on the day(s) of the puja. 
Be in Meditative Mode. Try to minimize distractions

As mentioned above it is possible that due to your hectic/busy lifestyle you may not be able to follow these instructions, which is okay, you will still receive the complete benefits of the puja.

What will be required from my side to perform Mahakal Puja Online?

We will require your birth details (date, place and time of birth) 
Gotra or Clan Name or Family Name (if you don’t know these details you can provide us with the name of your Father & Mother) 
Sankalp or Wish/Intention of the puja which will be translated into Sanskrit and recited by the Head Priest 
Your Photograph 

Note all the above details are optional and we can perform the puja on your behalf even if you do not have all the details mentioned above. We can perform the puja just with your Name also.

How many chants of Mahakal Puja Mantra should I perform? Mahakal Puja Cost

The number of chants depends on individual choice. Higher the number of chants the more powerful the effects of the puja. Higher number of chants will also increase the number of priests, puja samagri, time required to finish all the rituals which will increase the cost of Mahakal Puja.
