Shiv Puran Katha (Paath)

Shiva Puran is one of the most important Vedic scriptures associated with Lord Shiva. It is one of the eighteen primary Puranas in Hinduism. Shiva Maha Purana was is believed to be written by Ved Vyasa and later compiled by Sage Romaharshana, a disciple of Ved Vyasa. The Purana consists of 12 Samhitas or chapters which details various aspects and attributes of Lord Shiva. The 12 Samhitas of Shiva Purana are Vidyeshvara Samhita, Rudra Samhita, Vainayaka Samhita, Uma Samhita, Matri Samhita, Rudraikadasha Samhita, Kailasa Samhita, Shatarudra Samhita, Sahasrakotirudra Samhita, Kotirudra Samhita, Vayaviya Samhita, and Dharma Samhita. Shiva Purana details significance of various Shiv lingams, various methods of worships, Lord Shiva incarnations as Jyotirlinga and more, various legends and beliefs associated with Lord Shiva and more. It is believed that Devotees who recite Shiva Purana with utmost sincerity and devotion get all their desires and wishes fulfilled. Shiva Purana is glorified as warmth of the Sun and tranquility of the Moon by sages and devotees alike. By reciting the Shiva Purana all sins of the devotees are eliminated and he is propelled on the path of spirituality and salvation. It also blesses the devotees with desire fulfillment on path of dharma and brings peace, prosperity and happiness in one's life. One also gets relief from all planetary doshas by reciting the Shiv Maha Purana.

Kalash Sthapana, Panchang Sthapana(Gauri, Ganesh, Shodash Matrika, Navgraha, Sarvotabhadra), 64 yogini Pujan, Shetrapal Pujan, Swasti Vachan, Sankalpa, Ganesh Laxmi Pujan and Abhishek, Navgraha Pujan and 108 chants of each planetary mantra, Puja of major Gods and Goddesses, Rudra Abhishek, Shiva Yantra Pujan, Shiva Puran Kaatha/Recitation, Shiva Panchakshri mantra Jaap Om Namah Shivaye (1,25,000 times in span of 10 days), Aarti, Pushpanjali, Brahmin Bhoj. On the last day Havan will be performed.
