Immense abundance in all spheres of life.
Goddess Tara Devi is the second of the Das Mahavidyas. Goddess Tara is worshipped to overcome troubles and transcend them, taking us safely across the ocean of impermanent existence (samsara). 'Tara' means a star. Thus Tara is said to be the star of our aspiration, the muse who guides us along the creative path. Goddess Tara bestows prosperity. Even great Yogis like Vashishtth, Vishwamitra, Ravan, Gorakhnath have accepted the greatness of Tara Sadhana. It was due to Sadhana of Tara that Kuber could become the Lord of Wealth. Offering Puja to Goddess Tara Devi frees one from poverty, bestows comforts, compassion, serenity, peace, nurturing, wisdom, power of perception, knowledge. In the present age wealth is a measure of a person's worth. Even for good tasks one needs wealth. Tara Puja gives miraculous results and helps attain wealth and prosperity in life.
The legend of Maa Tara started when there was the churning of the ocean between the Asuras and the Devas. This made the Lord Shiva to drink all the poison that was generated by churning the ocean which made the throat of the Lord Shiva of blue color. This made the Maa Tara to appear and she counteract the effect of poison. By worshipping the Goddess one’s health can be maintained during the life and no poison can affect the life of an individual. Hence, Lord Shiva and Goddess Tara came to be known as 'Neelakantha' and 'Neela Saraswati' respectively. Due to the maternal instincts of Maa Tara she is known to be more approachable to the tantrik sadhaks to get all wishes fulfilled.
