Chandi Homam

Goddess Chandi, also known as Chandika, is a fierce and protective manifestation of Divine Shakti. She embodies the supreme power of the Divine Mother that destroys negativity, overcomes powerful obstacles and restores Dharma. In the Durga Saptashati, the Divine Mother is glorified through the powers of Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati, representing different aspects of the supreme Shakti.

As described in the Durga Saptashati, also known as Devi Mahatmya or Chandi Path, the Divine Mother manifests to defeat powerful Asuras such as Madhu-Kaitabha, Mahishasura, Shumbha and Nishumbha. These divine battles also symbolise the victory of Shakti over ignorance, ego, fear, negativity and forces that obstruct Dharma.

Chandi Homam or Chandi Yajna is a powerful form of Shakti worship that includes the recitation of the Durga Saptashati, Navarna Mantra Japa, elaborate Devi Pujan and sacred offerings into the Homa fire. It is performed to invoke Maa Chandi's blessings for divine protection, courage, victory over obstacles and adversities, prosperity and fulfilment of righteous wishes.

Chandi Puja and Yajna is especially auspicious during Navratri, Ashtami, Navami, Amavasya and other significant occasions associated with the worship of Divine Shakti.

For a more intensive Anushthan, Chandi Path can also be performed with Samputit Vidhi. In this method, a selected sacred Mantra is systematically incorporated with the verses of the Durga Saptashati, resulting in significantly higher Mantra repetitions and a more elaborate form of worship. Samputit Chandi Path is traditionally performed for important Sankalpas, powerful protection, overcoming major obstacles and adversities, victory and fulfilment of righteous wishes.

Kalash Sthapana, Panchang Sthapana (Gauri Ganesh, Punyavachan, Shodash Matrika, Navgraha and Sarvatobhadra), Chatushashti Yogini Pujan, Kshetrapal Pujan, Swasti Vachan, Sankalpa, Ganesh Pujan, Navgraha Pujan and 108 chants of each planetary Mantra, invocation of major Gods and Goddesses in Kalash, Shree Durga Idol and Yantra Abhishek and Pujan, Durga Saptashati Path comprising 13 chapters and 700 verses, Navarna Mantra Japa 1,100 times, Chandi Homa, Aarti, Pushpanjali, Daan and Dakshina.
