The name “Chandi” is derived from the Sanskrit word “chand” which means “tear apart”. Chandi is the fierce manifestation of the Feminine Primordial Energy “Shakti” or Goddess Durga.
Getting the Sat Chandi Path and Yajna performed is an act of great merit and brings immense blessings from the Divine Mother. In Shat Chandi Homa the sacred book Durga Saptashati is recited 100 times by a team of learned Brahmins. Devi Mahatmya or Durga Saptashati or Chandi Path is composed of 700 verses from the Markandeya Purana in which glories of Goddess Shakti or Maa Durga are detailed.     Have a Bath & Wear Clean Clothes Before the Puja
    Avoid Eating Spicy Foods, Onion, Garlic, Non-Vegetarian on the day(s) of the puja.
